Levels on the Adventure Map are displayed by one of three icons. One is a flashing red circle, indicating that the level has not yet been completed. Another is a flag, showing that the player has completed the level, but not all items have been retrieved from that level. The last icon is a flashing crown, proving that the player has completed a level to a 100% standard.
Clear %
The Clear % tells how much of The Subspace Emissary the player has completed. There is more than one way to increase the Clear %. First of all, the player has to enter every place they can, including hidden doors. Clearing the Stages is the biggest way to increase the clear percentage. Acquiring all the orange cubes is another way to increase the clear percentage. These cubes contain valuable items, such as character trophies and will not reappear once you get them. Some items that are different from orange cubes occasionally appear, these also affect the clear percentage. To make sure one has 100%, the player's adventure map must have all crowns and no flags, as well as having all characters recruited, including Jigglypuff, Toon Link , and Wolf.

Another is a flag, showing that the player has completed the level, but not all orange cubes have been broken, or not all doors have been entered. The last icon is a flashing crown, proving that the player has completed a level to a 100% standard.
Options
Underneath the Adventure Map is a small options menu, offering three choices. One is Stickers, a menu that allows the player to apply stickers to their characters, Save, the main way to save progress in the Subspace Emissary, the only alternative being the usage of a Save Point in The Great Maze. The final option is Quit, allowing players to leave the Subspace Emissary mode.
