| Current ideas for the wiki:
| | I unofficially resign. I do intend to keep my user rights, but I am no longer interested in maintaining the wiki, because at this point I feel like I'm doing a job and not even getting paid for it. I want to be able to come and go as I please, not come because I feel like I have to. You all will have to make do with Toomai for the time being, and chances are I wasn't wrong with his promotion, just like I've usually been right over most of my tenure. Have fun guys. – [[User:Emmett|Emmett]] |

| *Any help with mainspace content is obviously appreciated. A wiki with no content isn't much of a wiki.
| |
| *Since this tends to be my area of specialty, I have some ideas on how to handle things here that may be different from what was done on SmashWiki.
| |
| **One thing that I think I accidentally beat into the culture of SmashWiki is the ideas that policies are laws that form the backbone that must always be followed or else. This is not the case at all. Wikis are based on discussion and consensus, and blindly following rules (sometimes even to the point of harming the wiki just to be "by the book") is stupid.
| |
| **Some policies that I think should stay the same off the top of my head: No Personal Attacks (NPA), Assume Good Faith (AGF), Quietly deal with vandals (QDV), and Only Revert Once (1RV). These are all pretty good general wiki-practices that shouldn't be controversial at all.
| |
| **Some policies that I want to tweak: Requests for Adminship (RfA), What SmashWiki (ps. what are we calling the new wiki? SSBWiki?) is Not, Administration Policy. There are parts of these I feel are stupid and/or written badly enough that they need to be changed.
| |
| **Some policies I don't want implemented here: Requests for Bureaucratship (RfB), Requests for Rollback (RfR), Block/Del/Prot policies, Vandalism policy. I feel like these are stupid/bad policies for one reason or another, adding unnecessary bureaucracy and just complicating things that can frankly be handled without a policy.
| |
| *I'm going to go commando for the time being and re-promote any admin who wishes to be grandfathered over, simply so we have a task force of admins to ban/del/prot. However, at some point I think it would be a good idea for all grandfathered admins to undergo another RfA, to make sure the community still supports that candidate.
| |
| *Possibly more to come later. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on my talkpage. [[User:Emmett|Emmett]] 17:30, 28 September 2010 (EDT)
