Shield Platform Dropping is an advanced technique exclusive to Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64.

What is it

Shield platform dropping is dropping under the platform after shielding. It cannot be done in Super Smash Bros. Melee nor in Super Smash Bros. Brawl since to shield > down = Sidestep.

How is it useful

Shield platform dropping opens a larger possibility of comboing, techchasing, edgeguarding and mindgame'ing. You can run and pass under the platform, which cannot be done without shielding. This technique is not well known so you can trick people with it.
