By repeatedly hitting up on the C-stick while holding down on the control stick immediately after entering the invisibility stage of Dimensional Cape. [[Meta Knight]] can stay invisible and invincible for as long as the C-Stick is being maneuvered properly. Note that the control stick must be held down constantly whereas the C-Stick is being pushed up repeatedly. When Meta Knight exits this infinite maneuver he will most likely attack, so he may be open for punishment after this if not used carefully. Should Meta Knight fall off an edge while using this technique, he will become [[helpless]] and unable to return to the stage, as he would if he were using a regular Dimensional Cape.
The GameCube and Classic controllers are able to execute the maneuver with standard controls by using the C-stick or right analog stick for up smashes. It is also possible with the Nun chuck by converting a button into an upward smash. Unfortunately, the Wii Remote cannot be used to perform the IDC, as the upward smash attack can only be assigned to the 'up' direction, and as the technique would require pressing two opposing directions on the pad ('up' ''and'' 'down') at the same time; a hardware impossibility.
