In Super Smash Bros you must unlock the Item Switch Screen by playing 75 vs mode matches. You can then Switch Items you want in the game and you can also change the Appearance of Items to High or Low [Dosen't work in 1-Player].

However, they cannot turn off the container items like [[capsule]]s, [[barrel]]s, and [[crate]]s. Instead, they must turn all items off to get rid of all the [[container item]]s. With the use of an [[Action Replay]], the player can increase the rate that an item appears on a stage using various codes.
