Dashing shield is a technique available in SSBB. It is performed by dashing then hitting shield.  This technique cannot be performed during the initial dash animation.  It will result in a short slide from the dashing momentum. Out of this, a few things can be done such as a dashing shield grab.  The dashing shield can also help with mind games. For example, a dash can be started then be canceled with a shield possibly tricking your opponent into thinking that you are blindly rushing in for an attack which may make them try to retaliate possibly leaving them open for an attack. The Dashing shield can also be used as a replacement for Dash-canceling from SSBM, but it's not as useful.
The dashing shield is a technique available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is performed by using one's shield during a run (but not during the initial dash animation), which results in a short slide from the dashing momentum. Sliding versions of out-of-shield techniques can result from this, such as a dashing shield grab.  The dashing shield can also help with feints. For example, a player can dash toward an opponent, feigning a rush, and then shield; the opponent may fall for the feint and try to retaliate, leaving him or her open to the rusher's real attack. The dashing shield can also be used similarly to the Dash-cancel from Super Smash Bros. Melee.
