In the game she helps you in Dragon Roost Cavern. She gives you a bottle that allows you entrance into the Cavern. Later, after rescueing her, she gives you a grappling hook, which was used by the Rito before the became capable of flight.

Later in the game you must play the Earth God's Lyric to awaken Medli as the Earth Sage. In order for her to help restore Link's Master Sword to its full power several light puzzles must be completed utilizing Medli's Lyre, Link's Mirror shield, or often times both.
