A Victory Theme is a familiar short melody, often remixed, that is played in conjunction with a character's Victory Pose of the same franchise from the character. For instance, if the character Mario were to win the match, an orchestral remix of the familiar victory fanfare at the end of a normal stage from Super Mario Brothers will play out. In addition, some characters share the same Victory Theme since they are also are from the same franchise, in this case being the Mario franchise. For example, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser share the same Victory Theme as Mario. Thus, if one of these characters other than Mario were to win, the same Victory Theme will still play(*). The original Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl all have Victory Themes for each of the characters.
(*)The notable exception with this rule is with the Kirby franchise Victory Theme and Meta-Knight's Victory Theme, which is a Rock n' Roll rendition of the Kirby universe's Victory Theme.
