The tournament is currently set to be the sixth and final "premier" event for the [[LumiRank 2023]] season, with the event featuring [[LumiRank Mid-Year 2023|24 of the mid-year ranking's top 30 players]] in attendance -- only {{Sm|Yoshidora}}, {{Sm|Kameme}}, {{Sm|Zackray}}, {{Sm|Jogibu}}, {{Sm|Bloom4Eva}}, and {{Sm|DIO}} will not be in attendance -- making it one of the most top heavy events of the year alongside {{Trn|Battle of BC 5}}. This tournament is also the North American tournament debut for {{Sm|Hurt}} and {{Sm|Kaninabe}}, two of Japan's rising stars, as well as {{Sm|alice}}'s first open North American event.

Other underperformances include {{Sm|Riddles}} placing 13th, {{Sm|Glutonny}} and {{Sm|Asimo}} finishing 17th, {{Sm|Zomba}} finishing 33rd, and a few top Japanese players such as {{Sm|Neo|p=Japan}}, {{Sm|Yaura}}, and {{Sm|Shuton}} finishing outside of top 32. Shuton notably was upset by {{Sm|Skinny the Pooh}} and {{Sm|Tarik}} for 49th, marking his worst placement in ''Ultimate'' singles.
