The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Since their release, Pyra and Mythra have received very positive reception from competitive players. This is largely owed to Mythra's outstanding mobility and frame data, overall one of the best in the game, alongside her unique Foresight ability, though this is at the cost of her damage output being largely unimpressive. On the other hand, Pyra brings to the table overwhelming power and range, while losing out on mobility and, to an extent, frame data. Their polarized attributes overall complement very well and leave the duo with few collective weaknesses (most notably, an overall mediocre recovery). Although it is unclear how exactly they will fare in the long run due to their recent release and the still-ongoing [[COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on competitive Smash|COVID-19 pandemic]] making offline tournaments relatively sparse at the time of their initial release, thanks to their strengths and results from players such as {{Sm|MkLeo}}, {{Sm|Sparg0}}, and {{Sm|Cosmos}}, most people consider the character to not just be top tier, but one of the best characters in the current metagame.

*{{Sm|Cosmos|USA}} (#23) - The best Aegis player in the United States. Placed 1st at {{Trn|CyPhaCon Mini Esports}} and {{Trn|Glitch - Infinite}}, 2nd at {{Trn|Smash World Tour 2021 Championships}}, 5th at {{Trn|Low Tide City 2021}}, and 7th at {{Trn|Glitch 8.5 - Konami Code}} with wins over players such as {{Sm|Sparg0}}, {{Sm|Tweek}}, and {{Sm|Dabuz}}.
Since the Aegis' release, they have received very positive reception from competitive players. These polarized attributes overall complement each other very well and leave Pyra and Mythra with few collective weaknesses, most notably a poor recovery with mediocre distance and vulnerability to edgeguarding. As a result, they have seen strong usage since their debut, with {{Sm|Cosmos}}, {{Sm|MkLeo}}, {{Sm|Sparg0}}, and {{Sm|Shuton}} using them to place highly at multiple major events. This strong reception led many players to consider them as one of the best characters in the game, and they were ranked 2nd on the first tier list, ranking in the S+ tier alongside {{SSBU|Steve}} and {{SSBU|Joker}}.
*{{Sm|MkLeo|Mexico}} (#1) - The best player in the world, using Aegis as a secondary alongside {{SSBU|Byleth}}. Placed 1st at {{Trn|Smash World Tour 2021 Championships}} and {{Trn|SWT: Central America Ultimate Regional Finals}} and 2nd at {{Trn|Smash Ultimate Summit 3}}.

*{{Sm|Shuton|Japan}} (#13) -  The best Aegis player in Japan, co-maining them along with {{SSBU|Olimar}}. Placed 1st at {{Trn|Seibugeki 9}}, 2nd at {{Trn|Kagaribi 5}} and {{Trn|Kagaribi 6}}, 3rd at {{Trn|SWT: East Asia Ultimate Regional Finals}}, 4th at {{Trn|Seibugeki 8}}, and 5th at {{Trn|Maesuma TOP 6}} with wins on players such as {{Sm|Zackray}}, {{Sm|ProtoBanham}}, and {{Sm|Paseriman}}.
Following the first tier list, the Aegis's overall representation took a noticeable hit as more players were able to exploit their weaknesses, most notably their poor recovery. Although Mythra's speed allowed her to overwhelm other characters and match the speed of faster characters, her mediocre KO ability and lightweight meant that she was also vulnerable to being KO'd earlier. Conversely, although Pyra has the raw power, her slow mobility left her vulnerable to camping and being overwhelmed herself. Finally, most of the Aegis' success came from players who also used other characters, while comparatively, there were fewer successful Aegis players who solo-mained them. Due to all of this, the Aegis' representation at the top level declined slightly in 2023: most notably, Cosmos's results took a massive downturn that year, while MkLeo's results also took a hit as he dropped the Aegis from and added them to his roster several times. Nevertheless, the Aegis's overall representation remained strong, with Shuton continuing to pilot them alongside Olimar and Sparg0 successfully using the characters in certain matchups, albeit with increasingly mixed results as the year went on. As such, the Aegis only suffered a small drop to 5th on the second tier list, falling to the S-tier, and fell slightly once again to 6th on the third tier list.
*{{Sm|Sparg0|Mexico}} - The second best player in the world throughout 2021 and the best Aegis player in the world. Placed 2nd at {{Trn|Super Smash Con: Fall Fest}}, {{Trn|Port Priority 6}}, and {{Trn|Mainstage 2021}}, as well as 3rd at {{Trn|Smash World Tour 2021 Championships}}, {{Trn|Smash Ultimate Summit 3}} and {{Trn|Riptide}}. Online, placed 1st at {{Trn|Collision Online 2021}} and 2nd at {{Trn|Maruchan Gaming Series}}. Currently ranked 1st on the [[Wi-Fi Warrior Rank v7]].

Tier placement and history

Since the Aegis' release, they have received very positive reception from competitive players. These polarized attributes overall complement each other very well and leave Pyra and Mythra with few collective weaknesses, most notably a poor recovery with mediocre distance and vulnerability to edgeguarding. As a result, they have seen strong usage since their debut, with Cosmos, MkLeo, Sparg0, and Shuton using them to place highly at multiple major events. This strong reception led many players to consider them as one of the best characters in the game, and they were ranked 2nd on the first tier list, ranking in the S+ tier alongside Steve and Joker.
