Following accusations of sexual misconduct involving minors in July 2020, ZeRo was banned from the Smash community and his streaming platforms. However, several of his accusations have since been challenged, with ZeRo himself accusing some of his accusers for spreading misleading information on him. ==Playstyle==
Across all Smash games, ZeRo is a very methodical and theoretical player, focusing on having solid fundamentals and a commanding neutral game that can allow him to completely control the match after one mistake from his opponents. Due to this, he is considered to have the strongest neutral game in the world in Smash 4, and is one of the most adaptive players in all games. He is known to memorize percents, setups, and any other info that can improve his gameplay.
In Smash 4
His playstyle varies depending on whom he is facing. At times, ZeRo plays very proactively, inducing pressure on his opponents with precise hits, simple but effective punishes, and strong stage control. At other times, ZeRo plays more reactively and will not approach at all, preferring to camp most of the time and bait out mistakes from his opponent.
In Melee
ZeRo plays very defensively overall, preferring to camp opponents with Fox's Blaster and only approach when provoked to in the beginning of the set. This is to gain information on the opponent so that he can adjust his playstyle according to the habits that he picks up from his opponents during the course of the match.
In addition, his ledge pressure is very overwhelming, often being able to inflict large amounts of percent while the opponent is trying to recover or even kill early. His spacing in these interactions also makes it very difficult for his opponents to attempt a reverse edge guard.
However, ZeRo's tendency to resort to defensive play can hurt him sometimes, as he will play too safely and will not go for kill confirms on the verge of overextending. Although he is one of the most adaptive players across the span of a set, he can still struggle to bring back a set where his opponent has overwhelmed him, which is more prevalent in Melee where the micro-adaptations that are necessary within a game are far more emphasized.

Community reaction to ZeRo/Jisu lawsuit conclusion
Despite these challenges to the allegations and the legal settlement, ZeRo has largely not been welcomed back into the community and remains banned from most tournaments, including being placed on the CSRP's Restricted Player Register as of 2024, with them recommending a global ban. Given the lack of formal legal charges nor any other definitive evidence, however, ZeRo's ban is not universally recognized, with ZeRo having entered some tournaments since that allowed him to attend, such as the Florida regional Cirque 3.5, whose organizers allowed ZeRo to attend after believing he deserved a second chance, and online tournaments such as the Mana Monthly series, a series specifically held for players the organizer believed were "unjustly" banned.

The community reaction to the conclusion of the lawsuit was widely of skepticism that it has absolved ZeRo of his allegations, with the primary argument being because the lawsuit was settled out of court without a judgment, with no clear winner, the allegations are still left at the same status as before the lawsuit, not helped by the settlements own Joint statement that ZeRo shows, despite ZeRo stating all allegations were deleted, that the only allegation retracted was the Vanessa allegation, being an allegation that Jisu apologized for and removed from her "evidence document" two years before the lawsuit's conclusion. The other allegations, including Katie's allegation and Jisu's own allegations, were not retracted, with Jisu in her own statement making clear she has not retracted her alleged abuse or recanted the alleged evidence she collected in a google document of ZeRo's alleged abuse victims.

The Youtuber BlackWolfCompany would go into detail of the lawsuit in his video where he would pay the clerk fees to get access to  the legal records of the lawsuit. The legal documents would show in response to the lawsuit Jisu's lawyer would file an anti-slap motion leading to 3 of 4 claims for defamation being struck, due to statute of limitations, leading to the only complaint was Jisu's allegation tweet that ZeRo asked a 14-year to send pictures of herself masturbating with ice cubes and offered to fly another minor out to "do that" in a hotel with him. ZeRo's response to these allegations in court was to deny the second allegation but did not mention the first one.  BlackWolfCompany states the court found it odd ZeRo chose to ignore the first of the two allegations, with the court stating that ZeRo did not adequately defend himself against Jisu's statement  by not denying the part of Jisu's statement about soliciting explicit pictures, ZeRo offers no evidence to show Jisu's statement was false. The court let the lawsuit proceed, stating they were giving ZeRo "the benefit of the doubt" assuming that this was a drafting error. The court would give ZeRo an opportunity to amend his complaint to include a rebuttal to ZeRo soliciting explicit pictures. In the amended complaint ZeRo chose to not include denying soliciting explicit pictures. The court case would settle out of court with prejudice. BlackWolfCompany would then say ZeRo's lawsuit has been a failure as it had not proven to refute or recant his allegations, alleging it seemed more designed to disrupt the narrative than to actually win the lawsuit. BlackWolfCompany would further show ZeRo making a statement on Katie where ZeRo denies the allegations and claims he is trying to find katie in order to sue her, then ZeRo claims he has evidence that proves his innocence against these claims but won't show it unless for a lawsuit, further claiming Katie has shown zero evidence. BlackWolfCompany would point out Katie has shown evidence in the past and that it's bizarre that ZeRo claims he has evidence to prove his innocence but will not show it on his large platform in order to clear his name.

With the view of ZeRo's allegations having functionally not changed from prelawsuit ZeRo has not been welcomed back into the community and remains a controversial figure. Nevertheless, some believe the court case absolved ZeRo's allegations, particularly from those who are fans of Technicals, where ZeRo would be unbanned from and attend an in-person regional at Cirque 3.5 and attend some online tournaments.
