Well excuse me for having an opinion BV. Honestly, this is nothing like merging every character page. Between games, the characters have gameplay tweaks, plus we have the sections on Attributes and viability and so forth that aren’t identical between games. Battlefield’s only differences are aesthetic. You guys keep claiming there are differences but refuse to mention them, and I can’t find any on the page. We don’t have pages for the two different appearances of Mushroom Kingdom U for example. It has so little difference that it wouldn’t make any difference. Arguably Battlefield has a lot more differences between games, but they are only aesthetic which does not deserve its own page! I apologize for sounding angry, but having separate pages for aesthetics is just idiotic. :For what it's worth, there are in fact some subtle practical differences. In particular, Melee's Battlefield has ledge issues similar to Lylat Cruise, to the point that its article has three paragraphs about it; meanwhile, the ledges on Smash 4's Battlefield make it notoriously easy to hit people through the stage. In any case, I'm personally not too bothered about this, but I have to say the somewhat vehement opposition to the proposal doesn't seem terribly reasonable. :Because a vaguely pear-shaped patch of lighter blue is hardly solid evidence it is Rayman. I've stared at the texture file long enough that I would sooner say it is a Koopa or Diddy Kong. The only reason it may be mentioned is if a lot of people believed or memed it. --CanvasK (talk) 19:34, September 21, 2024 (EDT) |

Merge all Battlefield articles[edit]
Seeing as all of them have the same layout, it seems ridiculous to have a page for some aesthetic differences between every game. If people think that matters so much, then each of those things can be listed in a section for that game. Plenty of page sections are much longer than these individual pages anyway. The same goes for Final Destination. If someone actually has an objection to this, then sure, but for now I'm going to put merge tags on all of these pages. 72.133.91.93 09:41, 5 November 2018 (EST)Blueflame105
- Strong oppose Merging all of those articles about multiple stages called Battlefield and Final Destination would be confusing. Also they are different in each game. Corrin Fan 10:49, 5 November 2018 (EST)
- Strong oppose. It's like merging all of the fighter pages into one. Things change across the franchise, so we document it based on how it appears in each game. Aidan, the Thankful Rurouni 10:50, 5 November 2018 (EST)
- Strong oppose Per Corrin Fan and Aidanzapunk. Sonic, the Thankful Speedster 10:52, 5 November 2018 (EST)
- Strong oppose They're the same in name and concept only. Otherwise, they are different, and as Aidan said, this would be like merging all the character pages together. VoqéoT 12:23, 5 November 2018 (EST)
- Strong oppose You what? Did you even think this through before making the proposal? As the others have said, you might as well be asking to merge all the character pages together. Don’t expect anyone to make any votes for your Final Destination proposals either, because there’s literally nothing different there. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. - Oppose. Too much risk for confusion, and we don't need to make a page bigger for the sake of being bigger. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 14:44, 6 November 2018 (EST)
- Oppose. Pretty much what everyone else said. MHStarCraft 11:03, 11 November 2018 (EST)
Unless there are any new developments, I'll end this discussion in a day or so. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 00:06, 11 November 2018 (EST)
