Luminosity Invitational 2 LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online tournament held on September 13th, 2024. The winner was invited to compete in Luminosity Invitational 2: Back to School.
Tournament summary[edit]
Unlike most last chance qualifiers, this event was formatted as a 16-person invitational, with players being invited to compete in the previous day. Although all players were able to play a set, Jahzz0 was forced to drop out after his first set as he was traveling and therefore had an inconsistent Internet connection, while Skyjay forfeited in losers due to having a commitment in the morning.
Despite featuring players from all around North America, grand finals were fought between two Florida players: #2 seed BeastModePaul and #5 seed TM7_ZAP. TM7_ZAP ultimately dominated the tournament by dropping no games during the entire event, including 3-0-ing the first seed Riddles and performing a three-stock comeback against BeastModePaul in the first game of winner's finals, to claim the invite to Luminosity Invitational 2. Hungrybox chose to fight TM7_ZAP in a best of one after the event in order for the latter to "officially" receive the invite; however, Hungrybox lost the best of one and then lost two more games afterwards in a mock "thug finals".
