The player being awarded additional Gold rather than additional SP

Metroid Mania was a Spirit Board event focused on spirits from the Metroid series. It ran from 6 a.m. on June 28, 2019 to 6 a.m. on July 1, 2019 (UTC), and was repeated on the following dates:

• 6 a.m. on August 12, 2022 to 6 a.m. on August 15, 2022 (UTC)
• 6 a.m. on August 11, 2023 to 6 a.m. on August 14, 2023 (UTC)
• 6 a.m. on August 9, 2024 to 6 a.m. on August 12, 2024 (UTC)

During the event, defeating spirits on the Spirit Board which were part of the event was supposed to award more SP than usual. During the original run, some players were awarded additional Gold instead for unknown reasons. Notably, the previous two Spirit Board events proceeding the original run awarded additional Gold, suggesting that it may have been a rollover bug.

Description

North America

Spirits from the Metroid series have infested the Spirit Board! Defeat them to receive more Spirit Points than usual.

Legend-class spirits Queen Metroid and Omega Ridley, and Ace-class spirit Metroid will each appear for a fixed time. Happy hunting!

PAL regions

Check your Spirit Board, because Metroid characters are coming out of the walls in this event! Defeat them in battle to gain more Spirit Points than usual.

The Legend-class Queen Metroid and Omega Ridley, plus the Ace-class Metroid, will also appear at set times. Take a look!
