Latios (ラティオス, Ratiosu) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
Creature description
Latios was introduced in the 3rd Generation of Pokémon media as one of a pair of twin dragon-like birds that can turn invisible by reflecting light using the down on their fur, the other being Latias. Latios are always male and Latias are always female, and Latios are distinguishable for having a blue body and a more serious complexion. Like Raikou, Entei, and Suicune from the 2nd Generation and Mesprit and Cresselia from the 4th Generation, Latios is a "wandering" Legendary Pokémon; one individual Latios roams the game world, and your encountering it in a particular area occurs completely my chance, and if you want to try to catch it you must encounter it and weaken it repeatedly and try to catch it multiple times, since it will always run away the first chance it gets.
Latios and Latias featured in the fifth Pokémon movie, Pokémon Heroes. In the Pokémon RPGs, Latios is more offensively oriented, and if given a unique item called the Soul Dew, Latios becomes an immensely powerful battling force. It has a unique Psychic-type attack named Luster Purge.
