I see you don't think translation rereleases don't count. That's fine. But I also see  you changed the most recent appearance to Earthbound's initial release instead of the Mother 1+2 2003 compilation like it was before. How are rereleases counted as appearances on this wiki? Because Palutena, all three Street Fighter characters, and most of the Mega Man characters have compilation rereleases as their most recent appearances, while Sheik and Olimar/Alph have rereleases of single games as their most recent appearances. Should those count? I'm aware FFVII Remake is essentially just a different game, and some remakes are different visually like Link's Awakening or add new features like Tropical Freeze, but what about rereleases that don't actually change the game? :Not gonna lie, I completely misread your summary here as "If compilation rereleases don't count" (I was just barely awake at that moment, okay) and just assumed that's how it is without actually checking for other pages for this kind of thing (I also had to go someplace where I can't use the Internet, so I was extremely short on time as well).
:Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe NES Remix 2 (the game listed as Palutena's most recent game) is not actually a compilation rerelease, but rather a collection of minigames based on NES games.
:Anyway, at this point, I'm just not sure what even qualifies for "latest appearances" since I can't be bothered to judge how different a port should be to separate it from the original and I'm just not in the mood to have this discussion right now. I don't think decades-late translations should count if they're not full-on remakes, but everything else I just don't know.
:I'll say that I would be in complete support of just axing the "Most recent non-Smash appearance" segment altogether, but I am certain the majority of users here would absolutely oppose the idea of that, so I don't wanna bother engaging in a battle I know I'm not gonna win. :::Axing the "most recent appearances" sections is actually not a bad idea. I had just gotten done removing costumes as appearances after having a discussion that they don't count no matter how visible the original character is, with part of the response saying cameos shouldn't count either. I might start a draft on that proposal. 157.242.208.253 20:15, December 8, 2022 (EST)

Will you ever add Tamagotchi! and Amazing Tater to your Third Party Universe Catalog?
Asking that because they are missing.
The earlier is more debatable, considering that LCD Handheld games are still video games, and Virtual Pets are technically that. Not sure if the rules prohibite it from being added
Thank You.
XeroSchnee20 (talk) 10:45, June 10, 2024 (EDT)
:As I stated under the "Digimon" discussion on this very talk page, the issue with adding that franchise is whether the virtual pet is supposed to seen as a video game or as a standard toy, and the same applies to Tamagotchi (the fact that both originally came from a toy company doesn't help either). Sure, there are Tamagotchi video games, but the virtual pets are never considered to be part of that group. Maybe someday Sakurai or Smash itself can provide a definitive answer, but for now, I think it's best to keep them off for the time being.
:Amazing Tater is an installment of the Puzzle Boy series (it's literally called "Puzzle Boy II" in Japan), which is already on the list, so there's no point in making a separate entry for it. I know there's also a case to be made for Kwirk, but aside from the question of who actually owns the character, his only game is essentially a localized version of the first Puzzle Boy, so I don't think that warrants a separate entry, either. April Fools edits

I have an April Fools submission I'd like to send for the "Dependent Universes" section of List of minor third-party universes. This will continue off a gag I did the previous year which was a joke about non-game franchises. I may add more to this once the day comes (if I even remember to add it), but here's a mock-up - it would be added alongside the existing dependent universes in alphabetical order.
 • Sam and Friends is an early puppetry television show that aired locally in the Washington DC area between 1955 and 1961. Kermit the Frog debuted in this program.
 • The Tracey Ullman Show is a variety sketch show aired on Fox between 1987 and 1990. The Simpson family made their debut in the animated segments of this series.
 • Love, American Style is an anthology comedy series that aired between 1969 and 1974. The Fonz debuted in Love and the Television Set, a segment that aired on an episode of this program.
 • Wallace & Gromit is an English claymation film series created by Nick Park. Shaun the Sheep made his debut in the third short film of the series, A Close Shave.
 • The Intertidal Zone is an unreleased educational comic book illustrated by Stephen Hillenburg in 1984. It was the main inspiration for SpongeBob SquarePants and featured a character named Bob the Sponge, who would later evolve into SpongeBob.
 • Linus the Lionhearted is an animated television series aired between 1964 and 1965 that was intended to sell cereal. Sugar Bear debuted in this series
 • ITV Digital was a UK television provider between 1998 and 2002. Munkeh was originally created as a mascot for this service, but upon its closure was transfered over to PG Tips, which he represents in Smash.

April Fool's Conflict

I noticed you want to prank the K. Rool page, but I would also have at least one image I'd like to add onto the page.

Would you be willing to compromise and allow it while not withdrawing your prank at all or should I just take it somewhere else?

TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:00, March 31, 2021 (EDT)

That depends on what the image(s) in question is/are, as I plan to replace the origin artworks and spirits of K. Rool with artwork and screenshots of DiC Bowser and his alter-egos. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:04, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
All I want to do is add a gif of the cartoon K. Rool dancing wildly to the gallery on the bottom, which is why I believe our contributions can coexist. TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:08, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
I suppose, but he still must be acknowledged as "King Koopa" to fit with the prank. Perhaps the description could be something like "This design is the inspiration for King Koopa's appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series". SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 21:18, March 31, 2021 (EDT)
Well, I have two images. The second one, the one I wasn't planning on using, can serve that suggested purpose. The other, the dancing image, also has Simon in it and I was planning on doing something like "A K. Rool player taunts a Simon player" or something like that. Again, if it conflicts too heavily with your prank, I can move the dancing image to the Simon page instead or something to that effect. TotallyNotAutomated (talk) 21:58, March 31, 2021 (EDT)

Can I ask you some stuff?

Hello, I'm not quite often to edit stuff on this site. I want to make sandboxes like you did, can you tell me how? Also how do you insert pictures to this site? Is there a limit to how many pictures I can add?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Edit 2: Hello, sorry to bother again I'm the guy who wrote the spirit battle stages page and I'm kind of disinterested in it. I tried to delete it using instructions from the deletion policy page but it doesn't seem to work? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emerald Opera (talkcontribs) 10:03, April 30, 2021 (EDT)

Only admins are able to delete pages. For non-admin users, if there's a page you want deleted immediately, all you have to do is use a "speedy delete" tag (just type in *insert reasoning here*; it's generally preferable to put this tag at the very top of the page) and wait for an admin to delete it.
There's also a standard "delete" tag (same code as the "speedy delete" tag, but replace "d" with "delete"), but that should only be used for pages that likely require a discussion before they can be deleted. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:31, May 1, 2021 (EDT)
It's been 3 days, how long does it take for admins to delete pages anyway?
At this point, it pretty much depends on if the admins feels like deleting all of the unneeded junk.
Also, please remember to sign your comments by ending them with 4 tildes (~). It's also recommended to indent your replies with a colon (:). SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 18:45, May 2, 2021 (EDT)
You know what I think I'm going to continue the page. One big edit at the time, is that ok? By the way, your statistics page is what inspired me to do this.Emerald Opera (talk) 02:39, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
Ah, thanks for your kind words.
Anyway, for my Spirits Statistics page, I tended to only do one series at a time (for example, I would do all the Zelda series spirits in one edit, then the Metroid spirits in another).
Sometimes, I would have to split one series into two separate edits if their spirit battle quantity was simply too large for me to handle in one edit (for example, I split the edits of the Pokémon spirits between the first four generations for the first edit and the remaining generations for the second).
Other times, I would do two (sometimes three) series if one series has a small enough quantity of spirit battles (for example, I did all of the Wii Fit, Punch-Out!!, and Pac-Man spirits in one edit).
So my advice for your sandbox is to only do one series at a time in one edit if you think it's simply too large to do another series in the same edit, but at the same time try to finish as many series as you can if you think you can include them all in one edit. Hope my advice helps. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:21, May 6, 2021 (EDT)
Thanks for the advices, you're free to edit that page too if you spot any mistake like wrong ordering of stages or spirits.Emerald Opera (talk) 06:47, May 6, 2021 (EDT)

Hello, it's me again. I want to ask what are the chance to get probation nowadays because if you have seen recently on my contribution page, I mostly do stuff on my userspace for the last couple of days and just recently I uploaded several images. Since you can only do one at the time, each upload counts as seperated edits and I fear these "rapid fire" edits might effect me somehow.Emerald Opera (talk) 20:24, May 7, 2021 (EDT)

I can't really say anything about the chances of getting probation these days, so I can't help you there.
As for what to do, the only option I can think of is to just take a break from your userspace for a good while and focus mainly on the mainspace from then on out. If you still want to finish your userspace, I'd recommend you only update it every once in a while (like, say, one editing spree every one or two week weeks, or even once a month if you're really worried about receiving probation).
Hope my advice was helpful. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 20:44, May 7, 2021 (EDT)

This

Extremely late, but Robin's was very subtly changed in Smash 4: the slow-mo effects on the Levin Sword were bettered. Conveniently, the edit history for male Robin's version of this victory pose provides a great comparison. Aidan, the Ace Rurouni 13:55, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I was wondering why the trivia was claiming Robin had a change when neither page that would document the change even mentions it at all. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 14:28, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

Not gonna lie, I wasn't even thinking of checking the update history to look for evidence. I just thought the trivia sections of the pages I mentioned in that summary would cover the change. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 14:58, June 21, 2021 (EDT)

I need help

On your draft, I decided to add Genshin Impact, The text formatting was in a different font and I can't seem to remove it. AgedofallStrings (talk) 00:55, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

Not them but the formatting was caused by the spaces at the very start of the line. When the spaces are there, the wiki interpreter treats it like using <pre></pre> tags. Don't know why it does that, but that is something to keep in mind. --CanvasK (talk) 06:52, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

Digimon

I think Digimon is a third-party franchise that could use some representation. Could you add it to the list? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.54.195.214 (talkcontribs) 22:50, July 20, 2021 (EDT)

Hey, sorry about the very late reply. I don't know why I took so long to respond to this.
Anyway, my main drawback from adding Digimon to the list is whether the virtual pets (which is where the series got its start) should count or not, since there not considered to be part of the Digimon video game line-up (which started with Digital Monster Ver. S on the Sega Saturn in 1998). JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 11:26, July 22, 2021 (EDT)
ROB didn't originate as a video game character, and he still made it in.
Here's the thing, though: R.O.B., while not appearing in-game, was very clearly marketed as a peripheral intended to be used for two video games on the NES and nothing else. From my understanding, Digital Monster (and its older sibling, Tamagotchi) was marketed less as a video game and more as your standard "toy" than anything (it did come from Bandai, one of the most famous toy companies in the world). Nefarious Neer Do Wells

Just like Black Shadow and Calamity Ganon, where they do not appear on this event spirit board. 136.158.41.220 02:11, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

It's practically guaranteed that not every spirit that would qualify for a spirit event is going to be featured in said event.
The reason I reverted your edit is because there are plenty of spirits that debuted in games released for the GameCube, yet do not show up on that spirit event, and the amount I listed on that edit summary would just make the trivia not noteworthy. There was also no reason to prioritize Aryll and Dragoon specifically. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 02:23, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

The same thing happened in Cool Blue Summer where Jeff, Megaman.EXE, Tabuu, and Azura did not appear in this event. 136.158.41.220 03:08, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

Once again, not every spirit that qualifies for a spirit event is going to be featured in said event.
Also, talk pages are not for musings and such. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 03:15, September 9, 2021 (EDT)

Your removal of your ‘no slurs’ rule

I get why you might be concerned about it, but I honestly think it’s quite an important rule to have, especially since it’s also somewhat covered by SW:NPA. I also know that no admin on here would stand for any racial slurs, so you’d be quite safe, really. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:27, September 10, 2021 (EDT)

Personal talk page "rules" are just pointless anyway; if it's something that's already covered by wiki policies and will be enforced by admins, it's needless to state so and it's just taking up space on your talk page. If it's something that is not against wiki policy, then the "rules" don't do anything and will just serve as a source of potential inflammation. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:45, September 10, 2021 (EDT)
If you ask me, that "rule" was rather pointless to begin with. Considering SW:NPA exists, it's obvious that slurs and the like are not allowed. I don't see why you believe it's important to have if it already overlaps with an existing wiki policy. For my signature. Omega Toad, the Toad Warrior. (I'm the best!) 21:28, September 10, 2021 (EDT)

Thank you.

This is in regards to the Event 51 unlock not needing All-Star

I've been playing through a new Melee file for another project I'm working on and I noticed I unlocked Event 51 without unlocking All-Star mode.

I will admit I wasn't sure if it was going to be that straight forward to prove since I had already unlocked the 'All Star Smash Trophy' for someone while I was unlocking Game & Watch (I went the 1000 Vs Battles route).

So I wasn't sure if that trophy was required (which would have explained why people thought All-Star was required)

Anyway thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.100.64 (talkcontribs) 17:37, September 15, 2021 (EDT)

Highly unlikely, tbh. I already have so many sandboxes as is and the only "ideas" sandboxes I intend to keep for now are my "Updated Chronicle" and "Third-party universes that should be in Smash" pages.
At best, I'll probably just pass it on to another user if they want it. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 02:43, October 7, 2021 (EDT)

This

Went and double checked, and Stop is indeed a Final Fantasy spell, appearing as far back as the first game. Even so, though, I doubt that animation is from Revenant Wings, especially since A. I know for a fact that the animation and effects are from the original Kingdom Hearts, and B. Revenant Wings came out five years after Kingdom Hearts did. Aidan, the Spooky Rurouni 02:23, October 13, 2021 (EDT)

Yes, I was aware that Stop was indeed a Final Fantasy spell. I was referring to Stopga, specifically, since that was the particular spell the section was talking about. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 02:45, October 13, 2021 (EDT)

Spiky vs Round

Wario, Dedede, and K. Rool have round appearances seen in Wii Fit Trainer's classic mode. The three spiky fighters, Wolf has spiky claws and a spiky blaster, Bowser Jr. has spiky shell, pitchfork, and a drill, and Incineroar has a spiky mane and claws. Pierce Ng (talk) 05:08, October 28, 2021 (EDT)

As I’ve already explained in my edit summary, the “round” fighters for that event tourney are clearly supposed to literally be ball-shaped, not characters who are obese/very pudgy.
Plus, there’s likely only 4 “spiky” fighters in the tourney just so the teams (on the banner, anyway) are equally balanced. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 12:00, October 28, 2021 (EDT)

Warning other users

Hi, I noticed on this talk page how you been repeatedly warning an IP to use the preview button and being ignored each time. Now it's fine for a regular user to warn others of misconduct, but if the offending user ignores you and continues their misconduct, you should promptly take it to an admin who can actually enforce our policies. Maybe being a little lenient and providing a second warning before going to an admin will be ok, but you shouldn't be warning them beyond that without getting admin intervention; it makes the wiki look toothless if someone can just keep ignoring warnings like that with no repercussions, and it just looks silly to have a talk page full of fruitless warnings. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 21:38, November 2, 2021 (EDT)

Okay, I'll try to contact an admin next time should a user ignore my warnings. What would be the best way to contact an admin should a case like this happen again? JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 21:55, November 2, 2021 (EDT)

This is anon 174, I haven’t been on Smashwiki in a long time. Have there been any Ssbu updates besides the event matches and spirit event things? I’m glad you’re still editing your sandboxes and other articles! 174.55.24.64 22:12, May 24, 2022 (EDT)

I mean, there have been a few repeated Event Tourneys with characters that weren't in the event before (e.g. Heroes Vs. Villains added Sephiroth and Sora) and we did get one more new spirit (i.e. Dark Ryu), but other than that, there hasn't really been anything worth caring about after Sora dropped. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 22:31, May 24, 2022 (EDT)
Thank you. I missed being on Smashwiki, I do wonder why there are no new did you know facts on the main page however. Maybe some of you top editors can fix that. 174.55.24.64 22:49, May 24, 2022 (EDT)

Disaster Flare

I realized that she is now Amber Blackstar, and she retired Smashwiki, so what will come of Her fighter movie appearances sandbox? Perhaps, it can be free to edit now. Mile’s retired too I think, and his sandbox is now an official page, all because, ironically enough, of an update I made on October 2018 when I first joined Smashwiki. I guess her sandbox will now be an official page too in honor of her retirement. 174.55.24.64 00:03, May 25, 2022 (EDT)

I'm not Terrapin, but I would like to note that neither Amber nor Miles is "retired" from SW; the former merely stepped down from her position as administrator, and they're both just... inactive right now. And on that note, we really have no place to disregard the very clear notice at the top of AB's page that no-one should edit it, regardless of whether she ever becomes active again. Actually, you could just ask her about it directly on the Discord server, she's fairly active there. Sincerely, Ender Reallycool Musk. 00:23, May 25, 2022 (EDT)
Additionally, if you are still curious in Amber's FMA project, she has made a website that compiles everything the Fighter Movie Appearances had, so it's probably best to keep an eye out on that website instead of just editing what is practically a dead page.
Also, now that you're back IP, I would like to remind you to keep casual discussions like these to a minimum. As Ender just stated, there is a Discord server if you wanna have casual chats with the community, so I'd go there rather than just take your musings to others' talk pages (I will remind you, though, that I don't participate in any of the conversations there and still don't plan to anytime soon).
I'd advise you to only add any new discussions here if you need some help, want to give me advice, or have an issue with an edit I made. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 00:33, May 25, 2022 (EDT)
That cool page still seems a bit incomplete and the Sonic movie 2 already came out (also, Ugly Sonic was a cameo in Chip N Dale, never thought I’d say something like that ever) and the Chris Pratt Movie will come out next year. But, maybe you could remind her whenever she gets on Discord. I don’t have one myself however. 174.55.24.64 01:45, May 25, 2022 (EDT)

List of Pokémon trivia

Somehow, I think some of the stuff, like the Popplio edit that got removed, the Eeveelution and Mega trivia, maybe the all members of an evolution family trivia could’ve stayed, but I guess too many evolution families appeared in smash and, of course, there will always be new starters, even though it’s true that Popplio is the only non-gen 9 starter line not in Smash, which goes to show how popular Rowlet and Litten are in comparison. I think maybe some more trivia should be added, so that’s why I messaged you. 174.55.24.64 18:24, May 25, 2022 (EDT)

This is anon 174. I got blocked forever by media wiki on my main account. Can you tell me why is that if you know and can you unblock my main account because I am not a sock puppet account? 174.240.209.198 22:23, May 25, 2022 (EDT)

SmashWiki is not for off-wiki business. SmashWiki uses MediaWiki's software, it is not affiliated with MediaWiki nor its editing policies. You will want to bring that up with people on MediaWiki itself. --CanvasK (talk) 22:34, May 25, 2022 (EDT)

Shellder

Does Slowbro’s tail count as a Shellder or not, because if so, then that means Shellder cameoed in the melee intro, but not actual Shellder, only the Slowbro one. I’m not sure if it counts as a cameo though. 174.55.24.64 19:16, May 26, 2022 (EDT)

Autopicked names

If Groim referring to Death can be added, why can’t Vamp for Dracula, Toxic for the Pokémon attack, Water for the Pokémon type, and why can’t Sakurai be mentioned as the creator of the Kirby universe? 174.55.24.64 21:53, May 27, 2022 (EDT)

Since the latter half is about my removal (which should have been brought up on my talk page which I assume you didn't check back on): Toxic could be any number of things; same with Water which is found in many games like Zelda, Kirby, Pokémon, Smash, etc.; while true it doesn't matter as this is a Smash-centric thing, we don't need to mention Kirby, Meteos, or Kid Icarus either. --CanvasK (talk) 22:02, May 27, 2022 (EDT)

Two 174s

I’m realizing that there is another anon 174 on this wiki, but it isn’t me because that anon edits a lot of melee articles and I don’t. That anon has a 21 after 174 but I don’t. 174.55.24.64 19:13, May 28, 2022 (EDT)

Seel the Seal

Me and CanvasK are discussing about if Seel belongs in the Seal (disambiguation) page and he disagrees because he thinks Seel is a sea lion, yet I think, like most Pokémon, Seel is a mix between a seal and a sea lion, plus it’s English name is based on seal, so I think it might count. Also, I’m pretty sure we’ll have to go by what Bulbapedia says what Seel is based on, but Bulbapedia doesn’t work now. 174.55.24.64 20:54, May 31, 2022 (EDT)

I don't really have anything to say about the Seel situation, but I will say this:
Don't bring your conflicts to an uninvolved party. The Seel discussion was only between you and Canvas, yet you also decided to bring up the situation to my talk page despite me not having anything to do with it, and all you're basically doing is pointlessly pinging me about something that was out of my range (don't know a better word to use).
So please, I implore you to heavily refrain from doing this. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 22:31, May 31, 2022 (EDT)
I just seeing what you’d think about this situation because you know a lot about Pokémon and there was no discussion on the Seal page and I can’t create one because I don’t have a named account, but I realized without Bulbapedia’s assistance that Seel seems to be more like a seal then a sea lion anyways, plus comparing seals to sea lions is like comparing alligators to crocodiles, and this is more like a Bulbapedia discussion then a Smash discussion. 174.55.24.64 22:59, May 31, 2022 (EDT)

Red and Green vs Red and Blue

Why does SmashWiki always call the first Pokémon games by their Japanese name instead of their English name? The only difference is that Venusaur is on the Green front cover instead of Blastoise. 174.55.24.64 18:00, June 3, 2022 (EDT)

It's a little more complicated than you might think. You see, Red & Blue is actually a combination of both Red & Green AND solo Blue, using the available Pokémon from the former and the graphics from the latter. It isn't as drastic as, say, Doubutsu no Mori+ to Animal Crossing: Population Growing (and to a lesser extent, Mother 1 to EarthBound Beginnings), but the differences are apparently enough for Bulbapedia to count them as separate games (and thus, have separate pages for them), hence why SmashWiki also counts them as separate games. Im not Terrapin, but I don’t know what you are saying , you unsigned, and I think what you said is spam because you seem to edit the List of voice actors page only. 174.55.24.64 19:56, June 7, 2022 (EDT)
I also think what you’re saying doesn’t make that much sense, I’m sorry. 174.55.24.64 01:01, June 8, 2022 (EDT)

Jigglypuff

For your List of Pokemon edit, Jigglypuff isn’t fully evolved, because it evolves into Wigglytuff via the Moon Stone. And there is also one Electric starter Pikachu, and Pikachu being referred as a starter was shown on the old trivia page before I got changed. 174.55.24.64 19:36, June 10, 2022 (EDT)

That edit you made literally points out how Normal is the only other "Starter type" that doesn't have a fighter in Smash, when that's just not true at all thanks to Jigglypuff (a Normal-type) being playable. Your point about Jigglypuff being unevolved and evolving via Moon Stone has no relevance whatsoever to the situation in hand. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 19:44, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
I meant to say fully evolved normal type Pokémon. 174.55.24.64 19:47, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
Eevee isn't fully-evolved, either, and none of its evolutions keep the Normal typing. What point exactly are you trying to make here? JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 19:51, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
At least the Eeveeultions are evolved forms of a Normal type Pokémon, even if they have different types. 174.55.24.64 20:01, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
So is Wigglytuff, though. Again, what is your point? JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 20:11, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
The Igglybuff line are all Normal/Fairy types, Eevee is the only one of its kind that’s Normal type. My point is, Evee is an official starter according to Let’s Go standards. 174.55.24.64 20:34, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
How does Eevee being the only Normal-type in its family even remotely denote its status as a Starter Pokémon? Eevee was only a Starter because Game Freak wanted a "partner" of sorts to Pikachu for the Let's Go games, and Pikachu was only a Starter in Yellow (and subsequently, Let's Go) because of that game being based on the anime. If anything, the Normal-type (and the Electric-type) being a "Starter type" is more of a coincidence than anything.
Point is, you're connecting two completely different things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 21:24, June 10, 2022 (EDT)
I guess Pikachu and Eevee are unofficial starters then. Now I wonder why the anime chose Pikachu to be Ash’s starter Pokémon. So now I can see why you changed my edit now. 174.55.24.64 21:34, June 10, 2022 (EDT)

Grimer

Why is that still a disambiguation page when it never appeared in a SSB game? 174.55.24.64 19:41, June 11, 2022 (EDT)

That redirect was created long before I even joined SmashWiki (or heard of SmashWiki, for that matter). I had no idea it was even a redirect until you brought it up. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 19:47, June 11, 2022 (EDT)
I guess I helped you somehow. You removed Grimer off the List of Pokemon page in 2018 and that redirect wasn’t edited since 2010! I guess trying and failing to catch a Muk in Let’s Go Pikachu made me think about that redrict. 174.55.24.64 20:05, June 11, 2022 (EDT)

Pokemon redricts

Are you gonna make disambiguation pages for Pokémon that debuted as spirits? 174.55.24.64 18:42, July 2, 2022 (EDT)

No. I don't really have time to make redirects for dozens of these characters (hundreds of we're going outside of Pokemon).
Also, I would really appreciate it if you could just cool it off with the requests. I'm not the only verified user on this site, so other users can do what you asked if they have the time (although please do not go around asking other users the same request, as such an action may be seen as disruptive). You don't have to make a talk page comment every time you're under a different IP. It's completely normal for unregistered users to switch between or even change IPs, so you're not under the risk of a block. It's only considered sockpuppeting (to unregistered users, anyway) when your IP is blocked and you use a different one to get around it. I don't want to be the one to go through Sora's voice clips in any game and determine where they came from (even though I know for a fact that some of the ones in Smash are from KH3D), but I thought it'd at least be worth mentioning that Sora is one of the many playable characters in 358's Mission Mode, separate from the main campaign. Aidan, the Rurouni 17:45, July 24, 2022 (EDT)

Not gonna lie, I have never played 358/2 Days and I don't know if I really want to and have only watched a playthrough of it. I do remember watching this video (unrelated to the playthrough I watched) that showcased all of the characters' Limit Breaks, though, and Sora was one of the characters shown, so I probably just forgot about it. :P JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 18:06, July 24, 2022 (EDT)

Other NIWA accounts

Why don’t you show your Mario Wiki and Bulbapedia accounts even though you have them? I remember I saw in the Goomba Mario wiki page Smash 64 was mentioned and I asked if you would remove it. I don’t know why you don’t mention them anymore even though you retired from those wikis. I think the Mario wiki account was named after Koopa Troopa but I’m not sure, and I guess the Bulbapedia account was named after a turtle Pokémon. I’m sorry if this sounds like vandalism but it isn’t, I don’t think. 174.55.24.64 01:04, August 5, 2022 (EDT)

Table scroll

The easiest way I know to add horizontal scroll to a table is to encase the table in a div with the following: <div style="overflow-x:auto;">. Also on smaller screens the cell's images overlap each other, can see it by changing browser size or zooming-in. This is because of the "white-space:nowrap;". I think you can instead place "style="min-width:X; width:X;"|" in the headers (with X being the same in both), this should also let you remove the <br>s if tweaked properly. --CanvasK (talk) 02:35, August 26, 2022 (EDT)

I am trying to work with it, but the problem is that I just cannot figure which goes where and everything I tried won't generate the scroll bar. Could you perhaps provide an example so I know what to do? JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 03:22, August 26, 2022 (EDT)
Should be able as simple as
<div style="overflow-x:auto;">
table stuff
...
table stuff
</div>
It won't show a scrollbar unless it does go off the screen; adding "width:500px;" to the div should force it just to test or use "overflow-x:scroll;" to always show it with it being unusable if there is nothing to scroll. --CanvasK (talk) 06:50, August 26, 2022 (EDT)
Still having issues. I can't find a way for the wikitable to have a horizontal scrollbar while also keeping everything aligned as shown on my page. I need everything to be grouped into an even amount as possible, but everything I do just completely ignores that (for an example of what I'm talking about: the Mario items in Melee are supposed to go "a row of 3 each from top to bottom", but every code I tried instead goes "2 each, then 1, then 2 each, then 1, etc."). JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 11:33, August 26, 2022 (EDT)
Hm, I think the <br>s may be necessary. How's this? Removed the white-space, kept the line breaks, and made the min-width common width*items per row+10px. It completely breaks at super small screen sizes, but I think that isn't unique to what we're doing. --CanvasK (talk) 17:34, August 26, 2022 (EDT)
That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help, Canvas. I don't what I would've done without ya. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 19:12, August 26, 2022 (EDT)

I'm well aware about Lady Luck (it's noted in the trivia, and the pic itself is in the gallery), but I was actually updating the trivia to match Hollow Bastion's own page, which also notes that there's no background characters, not counting the Dive to the Heart artwork. I don't particularly care if my edit gets reverted back onto the page with this in mind, or if the trivia point gets removed altogether in order to count both Lady Luck and the Stations of Awakening as "background characters", but I just thought I'd say that much. Aidan, the Spooky Rurouni 14:32, October 4, 2022 (EDT)

Should rereleases count as appearances?

157.242.208.253 18:43, December 8, 2022 (EST)

Not gonna lie, I completely misread your summary here as "If compilation rereleases don't count" (I was just barely awake at that moment, okay) and just assumed that's how it is without actually checking for other pages for this kind of thing (I also had to go someplace where I can't use the Internet, so I was extremely short on time as well).
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe NES Remix 2 (the game listed as Palutena's most recent game) is not actually a compilation rerelease, but rather a collection of minigames based on NES games.
Anyway, at this point, I'm just not sure what even qualifies for "latest appearances" since I can't be bothered to judge how different a port should be to separate it from the original and I'm just not in the mood to have this discussion right now. I don't think decades-late translations should count if they're not full-on remakes, but everything else I just don't know.
I'll say that I would be in complete support of just axing the "Most recent non-Smash appearance" segment altogether, but I am certain the majority of users here would absolutely oppose the idea of that, so I don't wanna bother engaging in a battle I know I'm not gonna win. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 19:53, December 8, 2022 (EST)
Axing the "most recent appearances" sections is actually not a bad idea. I had just gotten done removing costumes as appearances after having a discussion that they don't count no matter how visible the original character is, with part of the response saying cameos shouldn't count either. I might start a draft on that proposal. 157.242.208.253 20:15, December 8, 2022 (EST)
Hi, I'm that IP, I made your suggestion a proposal because I honestly really see the merit in it. After all, Wikipedia only lists first appearances and omits latest ones. Unnamed anon (talk) 22:19, December 8, 2022 (EST)

As I stated under the "Digimon" discussion on this very talk page, the issue with adding that franchise is whether the virtual pet is supposed to seen as a video game or as a standard toy, and the same applies to Tamagotchi (the fact that both originally came from a toy company doesn't help either). Sure, there are Tamagotchi video games, but the virtual pets are never considered to be part of that group. Maybe someday Sakurai or Smash itself can provide a definitive answer, but for now, I think it's best to keep them off for the time being.
Amazing Tater is an installment of the Puzzle Boy series (it's literally called "Puzzle Boy II" in Japan), which is already on the list, so there's no point in making a separate entry for it. I know there's also a case to be made for Kwirk, but aside from the question of who actually owns the character, his only game is essentially a localized version of the first Puzzle Boy, so I don't think that warrants a separate entry, either. JacketTerraSig1.pngThe Jacketed TerrapinJacketTerraSig2.png 13:03, June 10, 2024 (EDT)

New series for your Third Party universe catalog.

Here are some series that aren't in your page:

 • Maniac Mansion (Disney)
 • Fear Effect (Square Enix)
 • Fighting Force (Square Enix)
 • Anything from Alpha Denshi/ADK (SNK)

XeroSchnee20 (talk) 14:15, July 6, 2024 (EDT)

I'll definitely keep these in mind, but for the time being, I am not in the mood to add any universes to my page, so please be patient until then. Also for all subsequent matters relating to my "Third-Party Universe Catalogue" page, please take them to that project's talk page instead of here. I really don't want my main talk page to be filled with a bunch of discussions for some non-wiki stuff (as has happened in the past), so if you could do what I suggested, that would be very much appreciated.
