    • Also coincidentally, Jelani's sponsor was abbreviated to ZG. This has been also noticed on social media and people made jokes about the sponsor being the "Zolden Guardians".[2][3] Although Naghmi expectedly cut Jelani's Melee run short, Jelani ended up making Top 64 in the Ultimate bracket.
  • Jmook and Aura, who won Melee doubles, made the spontaneous decision to team together for the first time ten minutes after the doubles bracket had already started.[4]
  • Ouch!? was both the highest placing Canadian and hometown British Columbia resident in the Ultimate bracket, finishing 3rd.
  • This tournament marks KEN's first Ultimate major win, as well as the first Ultimate major win for Sephiroth.
    • KEN's win being accompanied by his prominent usage of Sephiroth in Top 8 spawned jokes that he was the second coming of SephirothKen, Ken's original tag.
