The '''Jack Garden tournament''' was a tournament held in Japan in 2005. It involved many players from Japan, Canada, and the United States. It is known for how a Japanese [[Falco|Falco,]] [[Bombsoldier|Bombsoldier,]] got incredibly close to defeating Ken. It also is known that the Japanese team, Aniki, Bombsoldier, and Mikeal beat the American team, Ken, Isai, and Silent Spectre. This was one of the few tournaments where Isai was 4 stocked, and Ken was beaten by a non-wavedashing Link.

The Jack Garden Tournament was a tournament held by Captain Jack in Kyoto, Japan, on August 20th, 2005. At around 116 entrants it is quite possibly the largest Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament ever held in Japan, and is also the only Melee supermajor or major that Japan has ever held. It featured several international players, hailing from the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The event gained recognition following the performance of Bombsoldier, a Japanese Falco player, who nearly defeated Ken in Grand Finals, and for its crew battle, where the Japanese team consisting of Aniki, Bombsoldier, and Mikael beat the American team, composed of Ken, Isai, and UnknownForce. The event revealed the strength of the Japanese scene at the time, as Isai was notably 4-stocked in tourney; in friendlies, Ken was beaten by Aniki, a Japanese Link player who does not utilize wavedashing. Isai was out of the singles tournament early, losing to Japanese Doctor Mario main Farce, then sandbagged his way out of the tournament.
