Tacna 2014 was a Super Smash Bros. tournament held in Tacna, Peru, during August 27th, 2014. It featured top Peruvian players such as Alvin, Gerson, and Marka, in addition to Canada's SuPeRbOoMfAn and Mexico's Mariguas. The only legal stage for the tournament was Hyrule Castle.[1]
The tournament is most well-known for its Losers Semifinals match between SuPeRbOoMfAn and Gerson. The set took over an hour to complete, with Game 1 lasting 52 minutes.[2] This has been theorized to have been purposeful on the part of Boom as a way to convince the Peruvians to ban Hyrule Castle as a legal stage.
