Central Mexico is a Smash region that consists of the State of México (or Edomex) and the federal entity Mexico City (or CDMX); the latter is also the capital of the entire country. The region borders North Central Mexico states Guanajuato and Querétaro; West Mexico state Michoacán; South Mexico states Guerrero and Morelos; and East Mexico states Hidalgo, Puebla, and Tlaxcala.
Central Mexico has historically featured some notable players, including Dext3r for Smash 64. However, in Smash 4 and Ultimate, Central Mexico is considered one of the strongest, if not the strongest, Smash regions in Mexico, with players who not only rank highly in Mexico, but also have been ranked globally. This includes Chag, Javi, Maister, and MKBigBoss. Most notably, this region is the home of MkLeo, one of the best Smash 4 players of all time and the best Ultimate player of all time.
Central Mexico is also the new home for Smash Factor, the largest tournament series in Mexico; Smash Factor X is currently the largest tournament in Mexico, at 819 entrants.
