The Common Wealth 2 was the second annual FGC tournament held in Virginia Beach, Virginia on September 17th-18th, 2016. Along with several other fighting games, TCW2 featured Super Smash Bros. Melee, Project M as the tenth event in the Project M Championship Circuit, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
The tournament faced a lot of backlash due to mismanagement and poor organization from The Common Wealth. It was also poorly advertised and had an extremely high venue fee of $50 for a lackluster two-day event. Because of this, all smash games were run on one day, and turnout looked more like an MD/VA local than a regional of any kind.
