Probably a table of all the main characters of all the smasher in this wiki, divided in SSBM, Brawl, PM, and SSB4. It's going to be a massive update, but that's all that I could think of to improve this page. Anyone up for it? Kirbythe Amazing Know my power! 06:57, 26 March 2015 (EDT)

Smashers have main lists in their pages. If someone wants to know who a smasher's main(s) are, it would be simpler to visit the smasher's page instead of scrolling through this page. Berrenta (talk) 09:22, 26 March 2015 (EDT)

Move request

I propose that this page be moved to "Main fighter." Fighter is a much better term and is the official terminology as well, and while it may not be the most widely used term in the fanbase, it better encompasses the Smash roster than "character," and our page on playable characters is named "Fighter." Yes, I am slightly biased on this topic because my main is two characters, but when you really think about it you'll see where I'm coming from for the greater good of this Wiki. Support In addition to what Sam said, I feel like using the term "main character" might be a little misleading to readers who aren't all too familiar with the meta game of Smash, as the term "main character" is heavily synonymous with the term "main protagonist". Oppose: This proposal is old but still open so I'm chiming in. With the move reason, no one says "main fighter", so moving from "main character" to "main fighter" because "no one says it" is not a good reason, and people generally say "characters", not "fighters" anyway. I also do not see what's "better" about "fighter", everyone knows what you mean with "character" in this context and other fighting games follow the same terminology with just calling them characters. And what Nutty says right, if any different title is more appropriate, it's just "main" if we're going by the term people actually use. Omega Tyrant 12:02, April 23, 2022 (EDT)

Yet another issue i see with this naming convention is that "main character" could also be easily mistaken as meaning 'protagonist' at a glance, this discussion hasn't exactly reached a conclusion since December 2020, i would say just make the move, i doubt that anybody would really lose sleep over it.
