Sentinels, formerly known as Phoenix1 (P1), is a professional esports organization based in Los Angeles, California. Founded by Rob Moore in May 2016, they competed in the League of Legends North American League between 2016 and 2018. The team rebranded as Sentinels on June 7th, 2018 and have since been exclusively dedicated to shooter games, most notably Valorant and Halo.

In mid-2020, a team independent to Sentinels named Phoenix1 Reborn entered the Valorant scene before shutting down in early 2021 following allegations of withholding prize money from their players.

Phoenix1 ventured into the Super Smash Bros. competitive scene by signing Tweek on February 10th, 2017 as their first player. Two months later, Phoenix1 signed the Melee Samus player Duck on April 11th, 2017. Eventually, the Bayonetta player Captain Zack joined the organization on June 6th, 2017. On May 17th, 2018, a few weeks prior to Phoenix1's rebrand as Sentinels, the three smashers were freed of their contracts.[1][2][3]
