Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is an American professional esports organization founded by the League of Legends player George Georgallidis (HotShotGG) in 2010. While maintaining the oldest current League division, it has also expanded into first-person shooters such as Counter Strike: Global Offensive and the Halo series.
In early 2015, HotShotGG expressed interest in possibly entering CLG into Smash Bros. by reaching out to Leffen on Twitter[1][2] before Leffen was signed by Team SoloMid - CLG's archrival since both organizations' beginnings in League of Legends. On June 14th, 2015, CLG officially entered Smash by signing PewPewU[3]. They followed that up with signing NAKAT as their first Smash 4 player, and second Smasher in general, and then also signed SFAT (reuniting the team PewFat under the same sponsor) and Keitaro, the latter as their video production specialist. On June 16th, 2016, CLG signed VoiD as their second pro Smash 4 player. On October 23rd, 2017, NAKAT was dropped by CLG, citing poor results as main reason of this decision.[4] Keitaro also left the team at an unknown time. SFAT would part ways with the team on January 13th, 2023. On January 20th, 2023, CLG signed Cody Schwab (formerly iBDW). On March 9th, 2023, CLG signed Magi. With CLG closing their Smash Bros. division, Cody Schwab, VoiD, and Magi were dropped on April 5th, 2023.
