The United Kingdom and Ireland is a Smash region that is coterminous with the countries of the same names. The region itself can be divided into 12 smaller regions: East of England, Ireland, London, Midlands, North East England, North West England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South East England, South West England, Wales, and Yorkshire and the Humber. On an administrative level, the countries are split; however, due to the countries' proximity with each other, the scene is often combined together in Smash, with most of their tournament activity taking place in the England regions.
The United Kingdom and Ireland, especially the former, have historically featured some of Europe's best players for each Smash game, most notably Professor Pro for Melee, IxisNaugus for Smash 4, and Bloom4Eva for Ultimate. The region has also hosted several notable Smash tournament series, including those in the Albion, Heir, and Kickstart series.
