== Just curious == | |||
Okay, I looked at your comment on the Smash Arena which raised a question for me: What's your opinion of a "good" game? I mean, are you aware that Super Mario Galaxy sold over 8 million copies and every Publication review (like GameSpot, GameSpy, GamesRader, Edge, Allgame, etc.) gave it at least 90% on the score? If that's not a good game, I don't know what is, so I'm just curious as to what your opinion of a "good" game is. [[User:Enigmatic Mr. L|Enigmatic Mr. L]] ([[User talk:Enigmatic Mr. L|talk]]) 21:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
:You presumed that I was being objective. I wasn't, I simply don't like any of the recent Mario games. Take ''Super Mario Sunshine'', for example. <opinion> That had no plot whatsoever, and the height of gameplay was going round with F.L.U.D.D. cleaning up graffiti. Mario64, though I didn't especially like the style of gameplay in that either, was at least slightly better. It was also one of the first two games to be in 3D (the other being The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and they were in 2.5D but whatever), but it looks pretty much the same as all the games that came after it. Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Sunshine have the same old gameplay (roughly), so look like cheap sequels. Evolution of gameplay is what makes games great. For example: the ''Legend of Zelda'' series; the ''Age of Empires'' series (except AoE III and the expansions because they had '''way''' too much new stuff in them); Sid Meier's ''Civilisation'' series; of course, the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series. If there's no originality in a game, it's not a ''good'' game, it's an ''old'' game. Unless it's shamelessly a continuation, like Golden Sun: The Lost Age which wasn't as good as Golden Sun but which was still an amazing game even though it had identical gameplay. However, if they were to release ''Golden Sun 3'', ''Golden Sun 4'' and ''Golden Sun 5'' at any point, the gameplay would have to change or no one would be buying by the time ''Golden Sun 5'' came out. </opinion>
:That was kinda rambling... Meh. I think I got my point(s) across. Your turn. You're actually incorrect about SMG. It retains the gameplay from SM64, and adds new elements like different powerups (except Fire Mario, although it's the first time it's been in 3D), a different spin jump, new enemies, etc. But that's not the reason I'm here. I apologize for not replying to your comment earlier, but I couldn't edit this Wiki for some reason, something to do with maintenance? Anyways, I already had my reply done: The IPs are sockpuppets, meaning that they are all the same person. I reverted that guy's edits sometime last year, and he said he wanted to Brawl me. I told him I would with a condition that if I win, he'd stop vandalizing. I recommended he tried making useful edits after I beat him, but the guy's an idiot. He doesn't know what useful is, or he's just nothing but a vandal. Anyways, he just won't stop, and keeps telling me when he's made an edit or that he wants to Brawl (I deleted him quite a while ago, so I have no interest whatsoever in brawling him). The users I know have gotten used to it and just revert his edits and block him. As for people that vandalize my Userpage, well, that happens to everybody. I hope that answers your question. :New elements like powerups, jumps and enemies don't really count... Like Twilight Princess was largely a remake of Ocarina of Time even though most of the characters and the specific plot (but not the general plot) had been changed. But yeah, I now kinda take it back. I've been told that he's been in lots of good games, and that I was being horribly subjective, even for a forum page...
:One game series that didn't get better as they went along, simply because they added too much extra stuff, is the Pokémon series. They should do a remake of Red/Blue for the Wii, but make it a 3D world that you can walk about freely in. Of course Pokémon battles would have to still be random, and you'd still get no warning before one started. But only if they had the original 151 Pokémon (you'd unlock Mew by catching every other Pokémon), and only if you could catch every Pokémon in every game. And you could use the Wi-Fi for the linked battles. It would be the greatest game ever. And I will demand a fortune in royalties if they make it. I am on the IRC channel for most of the day, and should be for the rest of today (though I cannot guarentee I won't be afk). During the week, I'm on starting about 3 PM EDT, if you can't make it today. To actually get on IRC, go to [http://irc.wikia.com/gaming/], choose a nick that you want to use while on IRC (probably something similar to your username), select "#wikia-smashbros" from the channel dropdown list, and hit login. (If it tells you that that nick is already in use, hit back on your browser window and select a new one until you find one that isn't in use.) If I'm in the channel (all the users in the channel are listed on the right), type my name to make my client notify me that you're there. --<span style="font-family:vivaldi; font-size:12pt">[[User:Shadowcrest|<span style="color:#4682b4">Shadowcrest</span>]]</span> 16:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

...You reverted the edit made by 66.130.138.174 to Legion of Smash? Personally, I have no way of verifying the edit, and I presume you don't either, but the page in question also happens to have been created by an IP, so it's not as though we're dealing with a Smasher page for a smasher who's also a user here. – [[User:Defiant Elements|<font color="black">Defiant Elements</font>]] [[user talk:Defiant Elements|<font color=black><small>''+talk''</small></font>]] 17:02, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
:I undid my undo - it could be correct. However, I'm still dubious about it. I have no idea how their knowledge of the matter is limited to "LOS died", as I would have thought that some freak accident that killed six people would have made at least local, if not national, news. Unless they mean "disbanded" which is far more likely. Either way, same as you, I have no way of verifying the edit. In my defense, it seems like a weird thing to say and the IP that created the page isn't the one that just made the edit. '''''<span style="font-family:Arial;">[[User:PenguinofDeath|<font color="silver">Penguin</font>]][[User talk:PenguinofDeath|<font color="gray">of</font>]][[Special:Contributions/PenguinofDeath|<font color="silver">Death</font>]]</span>''''' 17:19, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
::I too presume that they meant "died" to be a synonym for "disbanded." It's hard to know what to do when people who have no apparent connection to a smasher or a crew make edits to articles about that smasher or that crew, but people've generally been given a great deal of latitude to edit those pages simply because it's very difficult to verify a lot of what's written on them. And you are correct about the IPs being different, which is why I edited my post above. – [[User:Defiant Elements|<font color="black">Defiant Elements</font>]] [[user talk:Defiant Elements|<font color=black><small>''+talk''</small></font>]] 17:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
== I got a question for you ==
Hey, dude, I got a question to ask you: did you like Sonic '06 (360/PS3), or not?
I'm asking this question because if I'd ask another Sonic fan, they'd hate it, probably. And since your a Sonic fan, I'm just curious to know. Please let me know sooner or later. [[User:PurpleDarkness|<font color="red"><span style="font-family:Arial;">'''PurpleDarkness'''</span></font>]] <font color="navyblue">([[User talk:PurpleDarkness|<font color="navyblue">talk</font>]])</font> 01:41, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
It sort of crushed my spirit a bit... I mean, why do people hate this game? Because Sonic isn't "fast enough"? C'mon, Sonic can't be the same guy you first expierienced in 1991, he needs to EVOLVE, something that every video game character has to do. For instance, Mario or Link. Do you still like them even though they've changed? [[User:PurpleDarkness|<font color="red"><span style="font-family:Arial;">'''PurpleDarkness'''</span></font>]] <font color="navyblue">([[User talk:PurpleDarkness|<font color="navyblue">talk</font>]])</font> 01:41, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Dude, I had a guy who said almost said the same, except he said "The only way to help Sonic is stop buying his games. You deserve more than what you're getting". But that, to me, made NO sense whatsoever. How does "help" him? By getting him and SEGA bankrupt? Well, no, that's not the answer to it all, and I don't really care what those "Sonic fans" say, it doesn't help. I know, I know, "This coming the Sonic fanboy, who mains him in Brawl, and plays his WORST GAMES OF ALL TIME", I get that a lot. But, that doesn't let me down. As a matter of fact, that actually en-lightens me, because these people who pick on me said "LOL, dude Sonic sucks epiclly because he just fails at life". But, back to the subject. Not buying his games or not letting SEGA/Sonic Team make a Sonic game for a while doesn't help, because it leaves Sonic BANKRUPT. Since you are one of Smashwiki's most active contributors here, I figured you might want to know if anything important happened while you were gone. Here's a summary of important events:
Shadowcrest's RfB passed soon after you left. He passed [[Smashwiki:Requests for rollback/Enigmatic Mr. L|my succesful rfr]]. The Smash Arena is (according to GalaxiaD) officially dead (it took almost four weeks to change that Peach vs. DDD fight). Speaking of GalaxiaD, he is no longer a supporter of Brawl, saying "Brawl sucks :D." Blue Ninjakoopa has been banned (by Shadowcrest) again, and this time it's the '''BIG''' one. [[Forum:Massive SmashWiki To-do List|The progressing cleanup]] is coming along nicely. All pros/cons are now attributes, some of the "Changes from Melee to Brawl" sections have been changed, and I've moved trivia into the main article (thus reducing the need for using the trivia template) on some Brawl fighters' pages.
And that's about it... I think. Yeah, it's not much, but I still felt you might want to know. :The coding's actually surprisingly simple. Just place <nowiki><choose></nowiki> at the start of the page, then <nowiki><option></nowiki>. Underneath that, place whatever you want as the first option, then close the option with <nowiki></option></nowiki>. Repeat this as many times as you like, each time opening with <nowiki><option></nowiki> and closing with <nowiki></option></nowiki>, then, when you've put in all the options that you want it to choose from, place <nowiki></choose></nowiki> at the end. If you want to make some options more likely to appear than others, you can use <nowiki><option weight="1.00"></nowiki> to open the option, then the usual <nowiki></option></nowiki>. If, for example, you had two options, and you set the weight of one of them to 1.00 and set the weight of the other to 2.00, the second option would be chosen twice as often as the first option. I hope that made sense. :Please read the edit summary: "Reverted Kill Maim: not the place for it (see [[Palette swap (SSBB)#Snake]])". I didn't remove it because it was spam or vandalism, I removed it because it was in the wrong place, and I think it's already been covered in the Palette swap page. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding. Why did you change my smasher profile? - [[User:Woody72691|Woody72691]] ([[User talk:Woody72691|talk]]) 05:16, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
:Firstly, please sign your comments by placing ''nothing more than'' <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> at the end. If you put "- Woody72691" at the end then there's no link to your user page or user talk page, which there ideally should be, nor is there a timestamp, which there must be.
:Secondly, this is a public wiki - every user can edit every page, with relatively few exceptions. I edited the page because:
:*It didn't have the new DoB parameters - these new parameters make the template automatically calculate your current age, and they update on your birthday so we no longer have to manually change ages, which required remembering when the smasher's birthday was.
:*I fixed the mains and others parameters because you're not supposed to have more than one character in each of the parameters - it ends up linking to a page that doesn't exist (e.g. "Snake, Falco (SSBB)" or "Marth, Falco (SSBM)").
:*It had two unnecessary trivia points which were unrelated to you as a smasher.
:*I added the Stub tag because there's no information about tournaments that you've attended, and because without such information, the question of notability arises.
:Thirdly, you seem to be under the impression that the page is yours - a Smasher article is an encyclopaedia entry on you as a smasher, not a public profile. It's not ''your'' page, it's just a page ''about you''. As such, you are more qualified to add information to the page than anyone else on this wiki, but you should not claim ownership of it: other people can edit it, and you don't have control over the content, unless it's factually incorrect or irrelevant. Hi there, name's Admiral Pit, (Admiral, Pit, or AP for short), and I'm new to Wi-ki, and upon looking around (mainly at a particular area) I would like to ask a favor.
It's about the "John" portion. You see, there is this guy named Woody72691 who made a "No Admirals" post there (He recently created it 1-2 days ago). The only reason why he put that there was because of some conflicts between him and me, started about 2-4 months ago (I forgot), which I eventually won (long story), but what he does to me now is do nothing but troll me, which is why he made that "No Admirals" post in there. Is it okay if you got rid of that portion for me? I would really appreciate it.
Also, I would like to get used to Wikia, and want to know any features around if there are any. Thanks for your time.
Also, I hope I did the "Signing name part" correctly. [[User:Admiral Pit|Admiral Pit]] ([[User talk:Admiral Pit|talk]]) 13:34, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
Also this "No Admirals" is his fault and not mine. I am posting what has become a hit with all smashers, a conflict between said Admiral Pit has never accorded and has since been his obsession to take me down. His Johns of not fighting top tier characters like my Falco and Snake has lead me to coin said term which has since been used for people like him who lie about their connections to Wi-Fi and complain about Meta Knight being broken. I would appreciate it if my term be protected and be placed back where it belongs on this wiki, thank you and Have a Nice Day. I very much appreciate what you did for me earlier. Thank you.
As for the "Smasher: Siege Angel Admiral Pit" part, I'll edit that later on since that's who I am. tbh, The Siege Angel part of the name is just a name for me on All is Brawl. My original self is simply "Admiral Pit" and I should be able to edit it out a bit. I will soon learn about making the "contents" and all and I'll edit it the best I can.
Once again, thank you. [[User:Admiral Pit|Admiral Pit]] ([[User talk:Admiral Pit|talk]]) 21:01, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
:Okay, so I've removed the trolling from the [[John]] article, I protected it for a while so now it can't be re-added any time soon, I deleted [http://super-smash-bros.wikia.com/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=&page=No+Admirals&year=&month=-1 No Admirals], and I blocked the person who kept trolling you. Need anything else doing? :D
:About your Smasher article - if you've been to any more major tournaments, please tell me. Otherwise, I'm afraid that according to [[SmashWiki:Notability|our policy on Smasher pages]] you're not notable enough as a smasher to merit having your own page. Sorry.
:Also, put your signature at the end of your comments, and use just <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. At least you actually sign your comments, and you formatted them well, which is a lot more than most new users manage!

Hi there!
Welcome to our wiki, and thank you for your contributions! There's a lot to do around here, so I hope you'll stay with us and make many more improvements.
- Recent changes is a great first stop, because you can see what other people are editing right this minute, and where you can help.
- Please sign in, if you haven't already, and create a user name! It's free, and it'll help you keep track of all your edits. See SmashWiki:Why create an account? for more info on creating an account.

Just curious
Okay, I looked at your comment on the Smash Arena which raised a question for me: What's your opinion of a "good" game? I mean, are you aware that Super Mario Galaxy sold over 8 million copies and every Publication review (like GameSpot, GameSpy, GamesRader, Edge, Allgame, etc.) gave it at least 90% on the score? If that's not a good game, I don't know what is, so I'm just curious as to what your opinion of a "good" game is. Enigmatic Mr. L (talk) 21:40, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- You presumed that I was being objective. I wasn't, I simply don't like any of the recent Mario games. Take Super Mario Sunshine, for example. For example: the Legend of Zelda series; the Age of Empires series (except AoE III and the expansions because they had way too much new stuff in them); Sid Meier's Civilisation series; of course, the Super Smash Bros. series. If there's no originality in a game, it's not a good game, it's an old game. Unless it's shamelessly a continuation, like Golden Sun: The Lost Age which wasn't as good as Golden Sun but which was still an amazing game even though it had identical gameplay. However, if they were to release Golden Sun 3, Golden Sun 4 and Golden Sun 5 at any point, the gameplay would have to change or no one would be buying by the time Golden Sun 5 came out. </opinion>
- That was kinda rambling... Meh. I think I got my point(s) across. Your turn. PenguinofDeath 22:09, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
MarioGalaxyMay Guthix be with you... 17:58, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- New elements like powerups, jumps and enemies don't really count... Like Twilight Princess was largely a remake of Ocarina of Time even though most of the characters and the specific plot (but not the general plot) had been changed. But yeah, I now kinda take it back. I've been told that he's been in lots of good games, and that I was being horribly subjective, even for a forum page...
- One game series that didn't get better as they went along, simply because they added too much extra stuff, is the Pokémon series. PenguinofDeath 22:25, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Can't blame the guy
Don't blame developers for giving Sonic little to no finishing moves. They had to balance his speed to power. He still has Super Sonic :D
Brawling?
I read that you like people who can't beat you with three fingers BUT can ask you nicely. Thus, do you want to? FC: 1247-5080-9379 Nickname:KAKE Chocolatepie (talk) 18:44, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry, but my Wii's occupied at the moment. My dad recently discovered Anno, which is like a cross between Age of Empires and Civilisation, and he spends a lot of time playing that. I haven't brawled for about a week now... I'll get back to you. If I can't get on today (UTC), I'll definitely be free between about 08:00 and 11:00 UTC tomorrow. Will you be free then? IRC
I am on the IRC channel for most of the day, and should be for the rest of today (though I cannot guarentee I won't be afk). During the week, I'm on starting about 3 PM EDT, if you can't make it today. To actually get on IRC, go to [1], choose a nick that you want to use while on IRC (probably something similar to your username), select "#wikia-smashbros" from the channel dropdown list, and hit login. (If it tells you that that nick is already in use, hit back on your browser window and select a new one until you find one that isn't in use.) If I'm in the channel (all the users in the channel are listed on the right), type my name to make my client notify me that you're there. --Shadowcrest 16:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
May I Ask Why...
...You reverted the edit made by 66.130.138.174 to Legion of Smash? Personally, I have no way of verifying the edit, and I presume you don't either, but the page in question also happens to have been created by an IP, so it's not as though we're dealing with a Smasher page for a smasher who's also a user here. – Defiant Elements +talk 17:02, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- I undid my undo - it could be correct. PenguinofDeath 17:19, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- I too presume that they meant "died" to be a synonym for "disbanded." It's hard to know what to do when people who have no apparent connection to a smasher or a crew make edits to articles about that smasher or that crew, but people've generally been given a great deal of latitude to edit those pages simply because it's very difficult to verify a lot of what's written on them. And you are correct about the IPs being different, which is why I edited my post above. – Defiant Elements +talk 17:35, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
I got a question for you
Hey, dude, I got a question to ask you: did you like Sonic '06 (360/PS3), or not?
I'm asking this question because if I'd ask another Sonic fan, they'd hate it, probably. And since your a Sonic fan, I'm just curious to know. Please let me know sooner or later. PurpleDarkness (talk) 01:41, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
PurpleDarkness (talk) 01:41, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
PurpleDarkness (talk) 01:41, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks, I'll get to work putting them in the articles!L33t Silvie I see wat u did thar...

I didn't know about that forum, and I didn't know there was a such problem that people are removing unintentionally images from pages. Why it's so? At least I'm not one of them. Sorry if it was offensive, I thought it was vandalism. Firewario (talk) 08:00, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Fake Picture
The file in question is Linkje.png
Hey, if you click pictures, and go to either the 4th, or 5th page after typing in "Link", there is this guy wearing a green shirt who has nothing to do with link. Is that supposed to be there?--Shade Link (talk) 18:55, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it is supposed to be there. If you look at the File Links section on the file's page it tells you the name of every page that has that image on it. It is currently being used on a page called "Smasher:Linkje". Linkje is a Dutch professional smasher, so it's appropriate that there's a picture of him.
- If the File Links section says "no pages link to this file", simply place a delete tag on the page with {{d|unused}}. This tags the image so that it is brought to attention of the administrators who will then delete it if necessary. PenguinofDeath 20:11, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Ah, now i see. I have been a member of wikia for a while, but i am not an admin. At least now i know.--Shade Link (talk) 00:20, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
1 and 2 buttons = smash?
"If 1 and 2 are pressed together when playing with the Wii Remote held sideways, your character does not perform a side smash attack." I'm sorry, this is pretty minor. Anyways, about that 1+2=smash thing, I'm sorry if I slightly irritated you with that. I thought that because a page on this wiki says so, the default control scheme says so, and even the official website says so. Again, sorry about that, even if I wasn't wrong. --SSRider 22:39, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- I tested it, and it doesn't work for me. I mistakenly presumed that meant that you were incorrect, ignoring the large chance that I was doing it wrong. I've changed it back. PenguinofDeath 22:49, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
- Eh, no big deal. I don't like to hold grudges, especially over minor stuff. But thanks for changing it back anyway! --SSRider 00:21, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
Re:Snapshots
- Insert an SD card into the Wii.
- Go to the "Album" section of Brawl.
- Copy a snapshot to the SD card.
- Take the SD card out and put it into your computer.
- Upload your snapshot here
- Upload the converted image to SmashWiki.

What you missed
Since you are one of Smashwiki's most active contributors here, I figured you might want to know if anything important happened while you were gone. Here's a summary of important events:
Shadowcrest's RfB passed soon after you left. He passed my succesful rfr. The Smash Arena is (according to GalaxiaD) officially dead (it took almost four weeks to change that Peach vs. DDD fight). Speaking of GalaxiaD, he is no longer a supporter of Brawl, saying "Brawl sucks :D." Blue Ninjakoopa has been banned (by Shadowcrest) again, and this time it's the BIG one. The progressing cleanup is coming along nicely.
Enigmatic Mr. L 18:33, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Pokémon (game)
What was wrong with my edit to Pokémon (game)? Aurumsmash (talk) 16:33, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nothing was wrong with it... I just merged "Red and Blue have subsequently been remade for the Game Boy Advance as FireRed and LeafGreen." and "In Fire Red and Leaf Green the goal was generally te same but with a few new additions to explore." to make "Red and Blue have subsequently been remade for the Game Boy Advance as FireRed and LeafGreen, which had virtually identical gameplay, but with a few new areas to explore." so that there was less repetition in the paragraph. I didn't revert your edit, and I'm sorry if you felt that I removed what you had just added. In fact, I thought that it was a good edit, which added valuable information to the article. PenguinofDeath 15:44, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- It is okay, I just wanted to know. Aurumsmash (talk) 18:45, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
WHAT'S UP?!?!?
Hey I'm doing pretty good here. I'm not so new here. But if you guys need any articles on anything, talk to me. I edited the page for Super Mario-kun and Mario Kart Wii. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WheelManMario (talk • contribs) 02:35, 14 August 2009
How do you???
I was looking at your brawl page... and I refreshed. How do you make your page do the things it does?--Kill Maim (talk) 13:01, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- The coding's actually surprisingly simple. Just place <choose> at the start of the page, then <option>. Underneath that, place whatever you want as the first option, then close the option with </option>. Repeat this as many times as you like, each time opening with <option> and closing with </option>, then, when you've put in all the options that you want it to choose from, place </choose> at the end. If you want to make some options more likely to appear than others, you can use <option weight="1.00"> to open the option, then the usual </option>. If, for example, you had two options, and you set the weight of one of them to 1.00 and set the weight of the other to 2.00, the second option would be chosen twice as often as the first option. I hope that made sense. PenguinofDeath 16:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- I may play with that. By the way, yes, you explained very well.--Kill Maim (talk) 17:04, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Snake?
Why was the costume change removed? I know that's right, I played MGS3 Religiously for awhile.--Kill Maim (talk) 15:03, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Please read the edit summary: "Reverted Kill Maim: not the place for it (see Palette swap (SSBB)#Snake)". Details of character's palette swaps should go on the Palette swap page, not on the character pages, otherwise you end up with the whole of the Palette swap page being covered on the rest of the wiki, rendering it redundant. I didn't remove it because it was spam or vandalism, I removed it because it was in the wrong place, and I think it's already been covered in the Palette swap page. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding. PenguinofDeath 15:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Kay then.--Kill Maim (talk) 15:15, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
My bad
Sorry for putting the ROB color trivia in the wrong place, I didn't realize that there was a Palette Swap page. Thanks for politely correcting me, usually when I make a mistake on a wiki, I'm bothered by people telling me how stupid I am. Congratulations
You are now an administrator. Don't forget to add yourself to the admin page. Shadowcrest 15:55, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Congratulations, PoD! You are now the Xth admin in SmashWiki! Y462 (T • C • E ) 23:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
New template
I have made a template called Template:Ban suggestion. This is for contributors other then administrators to put on the user page of a user they think is a vandal. Then an admin can see it and see if that user needs a ban.Railizardz (talk) 18:24, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Update: My template has been found unnecessary because there is already another way to report vandals.Railizardz (talk) 18:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've deleted the template. And don't worry, Rail- I proposed a similar template when I first came here about a year ago too. No harm done. Shadowcrest 18:47, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Hey man what's up
What can I do around here? I'm successful on the other wikis I'm on, but I'm a little confused. PA<BOYCRAZ (talk) 22:00, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Who is Uberfuzzy?
No offence dude but who is Uberfuzzy? My friend gave me this pic and I thought it looked funny so I made it my avatar. I don't know what you're on about, no offence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.174.216.134 (talk • contribs) 03:10, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- Uberfuzzy is a Wikia Staff member, and that's a picture of him. Shadowcrest 03:12, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- wikia:User:Uberfuzzy|Uberfuzzy is, as Shadowcrest said, a Wikia Staff member. He is also on the wikia:Wikia:Community Team|Community Team. He's one of the most influential people on the whole of Wikia, so using his picture as your avatar is not good as it looks like you're trying to impersonate him - I'm not saying that you are, just that it could seem that way. Please change it to something more appropriate. Thanks, PenguinofDeath 03:37, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Question
Why did you change my smasher profile? - Woody72691 (talk) 05:16, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Firstly, please sign your comments by placing nothing more than ~~~~ at the end. If you put "- Woody72691" at the end then there's no link to your user page or user talk page, which there ideally should be, nor is there a timestamp, which there must be.
- Secondly, this is a public wiki - every user can edit every page, with relatively few exceptions. I edited the page because:
- It didn't have the new DoB parameters - these new parameters make the template automatically calculate your current age, and they update on your birthday so we no longer have to manually change ages, which required remembering when the smasher's birthday was.
- I fixed the mains and others parameters because you're not supposed to have more than one character in each of the parameters - it ends up linking to a page that doesn't exist (e.g. "Snake, Falco (SSBB)" or "Marth, Falco (SSBM)").
- It had two unnecessary trivia points which were unrelated to you as a smasher.
- I added the Stub tag because there's no information about tournaments that you've attended, and because without such information, the question of notability arises.
- Thirdly, you seem to be under the impression that the page is yours - a Smasher article is an encyclopaedia entry on you as a smasher, not a public profile. It's not your page, it's just a page about you. As such, you are more qualified to add information to the page than anyone else on this wiki, but you should not claim ownership of it: other people can edit it, and you don't have control over the content, unless it's factually incorrect or irrelevant. PenguinofDeath 08:10, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- Dude, you expect way too much out of me. I'm new to wiki so don't expect me to know everything in 2 days. Woody72691 (talk) 05:39, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Admiral Pit (talk) 13:34, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
Woody72691 (talk) 18:27, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
Admiral Pit (talk) 21:01, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, so I've removed the trolling from the John article, I protected it for a while so now it can't be re-added any time soon, I deleted No Admirals, and I blocked the person who kept trolling you. Need anything else doing? :D
- About your Smasher article - if you've been to any more major tournaments, please tell me. Otherwise, I'm afraid that according to our policy on Smasher pages you're not notable enough as a smasher to merit having your own page. Sorry.
- Also, put your signature at the end of your comments, and use just ~~~~. At least you actually sign your comments, and you formatted them well, which is a lot more than most new users manage!
- And you're welcome - I'm happy to be of assistance. If you ever need help with anything else, just start a new section here, and I'll deal with it as soon as possible. PenguinofDeath 02:41, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
- I see. I guess I won't be able to have my own page with the lack of tournament stuff, of which I really can't travel to anyways. But ::regardless, I appreciate your help dealing with that one guy.
- I learn quickly usually, and hopefully in the future I can get out there eventually.
- And umm, signing post at end. Admiral Pit (talk) 04:11, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
