If anyone worries how we'd categorize these tournaments, we've historically used rankings such as the PGR and OrionRank to go off of, or we took a look at how many top and high-level players are in attendance. What size they are are also usually noted on the tournament page itself, so we don't need to look through all the older brackets. :I was initially onboard with splitting the "Nationals" category into "Nationals" and "Majors", but after talking to Omega Tyrant on Discord, I now think the best solution would be to rename the "Nationals" category to "Majors" and axe all of the "nationals" that are clearly not A/S-Tier equivalents. Additionally, we should note on the "Tournament" page that the term "national" has become somewhat antiquated and has changed definitions over time from what it was originally intended to mean. For example, a "national/international" initially referred to an event that would be considered the equivalent to a "major/supermajor" in the present day. However, now the term "national" is more in line with a "super regional". PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 15:21, May 11, 2022 (EDT) |
