Zantetsu, or Roman, is an SSB64, and former Melee, player who resides in Springfield, Missouri. He is currently ranked 1st in the MO SSB64 Power Rankings, and was formerly ranked 45th on the 2016 64 League Rankings.

Zantetsu began his competitive smash career in June 2006 when he was only 12 years old. After seeing competitive matches on YouTube, and learning of Kaillera, he began playing SSB64 online and Melee with a friend. He stopped playing both games around 2009, after frustration of there being no nearby scenes to play with.

In January of 2011, Zivilyn Bane, a Melee player from California, moved into Zantetsu's area and contacted him through Smashboards. Interested in forming a scene, they met up and Zantetsu began playing Melee again. Shortly after meeting, they discovered a Brawl monthly tournament series in the area through All is Brawl. Both players attended and started to play Melee alongside the Brawl tournaments, slowly converting Brawl players over to Melee. This was the start of the Springfield, MO Melee scene that has grown larger ever since.

In March of 2015, Zantetsu had discovered WEEGRO, a Missouri SSB64 player, at a local Springfield SSB64 bar tournament. Upon discovering that a SSB64 scene existed in the state and the game was finally flourishing from all over the world, Zantetsu had decided to retire from Melee in August of 2015, and became an exclusive SSB64 player.
