The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Disclaimer: Most of the lists you will see on this page are based on information found on unofficial lists online (more specifically, Wikipedia of Japan). It is possible some of these lists may not be 100% accurate, so please take them with a grain of salt.
While the Chronicle in Brawl was an admittedly neat concept (a list of every game Nintendo has published), it does have some noticeable flaws in it. So this page is to take the existing one and try to make it as accurate as possible, as well as update it to reflect the list of Nintendo-published games released after Brawl in addition to titles released by the third-party companies that are represented with a playable fighter.
- An asterisk (*) denotes titles that were not in the original Chronicle list in Brawl in a respective region. This only applies to the Nintendo folder for each list and games released prior to 2008.
- This page will include icons of each of the Smash Bros. installments for several notes. An icon will be used to denote the game(s) a list would hypothetically appear in and where it would've ended should the list extend beyond a game's release (for example, the Nintendo folder for the Nintendo 64 list would end on December 1998 in regards to the original Super Smash Bros.). The latter only applies if a list is given more than one icon.
- Third-party companies can have multiple icons when it comes to where the list ends, but Nintendo's folders will only list the icon of the first game where the list would end followed by "onward".
- In regards to what icons third-party companies get, they will only get the icons of the games in which they have playable representation in, and only within the base game (for example, neither Konami nor Square Enix can have the Smash 4 icon. For the former, no fighter in that game was owned by Konami; For the latter, Cloud was not playable in the base game for that same game.).
- When it comes to merged companies (such as Bandai Namco or Square Enix), if their first representation was originally owned by one former half of the company, only that former company will be given an icon (For example, Square gets the Ultimate icon as Cloud was in the base game for that game, but Enix does not as Hero was not in the base game for that same game).
- If no icon is listed next to any title, that means the list is the exact same in every installment it appears in.
- Onto the icons themselves:
- A
icon denotes that a list would appear in Smash 64 and where it would've ended. The latter only applies if the list extends beyond December 1998.
- A
icon denotes that a list would appear in Melee and where it would've ended. The latter only applies if the list extends beyond either December 1998 or October 2001.
- A
icon denotes that a list would appear in Brawl and where it would've ended. The latter only applies if the list extends beyond October 2001 or December 2007.
- A
icon denotes that a list would appear in Smash 4 and where it would've ended. The latter only applies if the list extends beyond December 2007 or November 2014. Additionally, the latter will also be based only on the releases of the Wii U version as I don't see the 3DS version having a Chronicle feature of any sorts.
- A
icon denotes that a list would appear in Ultimate and where it would've ended.
- A
- This page will only go up to the month before the release of the latest Smash Bros. game. This is because I don't see the Chronicle being a thing that would be constantly updated with every game update.
As for why I went with the month prior to a Smash game's release rather than generally before its exact release date, this stems from a quirk in the original Chronicle; the only Nintendo-published game released in 2008 in Japan to predate Brawl was the Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (both of which came out on January 2008), yet was not listed on the original Chronicle (keep in mind the Wii version was listed), due to the deadline being "December 2007".

Game Boy
To stay consistent with the inclusion of Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, this list now adds Balloon Fight GB (otherwise known as Balloon Kid in the West),
a game whose Japanese release was exclusive to the Nintendo Power service.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
This list now adds the games that were only released via the Nintendo Power service.
In addition, some games were reordered to match their original Nintendo Power releases.
Virtual Boy
Nintendo 64
This list now adds the games that were listed on the Japanese Nintendo 64 website, but were not listed on the original Chronicle.
64DD
A list that was originally not present in the original Chronicle list in Brawl.
As a result, no game on here will be marked with an asterisk (*) as that would be redundant.

- Bandai Namco Releases
- Square Enix Releases
This list is now expanded to include games released after 2007.
Outside of that, this list has the placements of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl swapped,
seeing how Diamond is the "left-side" version of the two games (i.e. the version that is almost always announced first when listing both versions).

Honorable mentions
This is a dumping ground for games that technically aren't Nintendo-published, but are installments of Nintendo franchises (as well as a few third-party series with at least one Nintendo-published installment), as well as installments of some fully third-party universes that aren't in the above lists (due to being published by another publisher).
This will not include games based on non-gaming properties (with the exception of Doki Doki Panic due to its strong ties with the Mario series) or games that are already listed on any of the folders on this page. Additionally, anything under the "Third-Parties" folder is strictly limited to universes represented in the Smash series.
