Come on, bro. I don't wanna sound rude, but it's annoying as fuck that you removed all of my edits on the Smash 4 Luigi page. The edits were in no way irrelevant. Super Jump Punch is a bad recovery move in more than one way. Luigi Cyclone is not a solely vertical recovery move. And I could go on. If you see something wrong with my edits, talk to me about it. And use the show preview button, for the love of God. It clogs up recent changes. [[User:Iron Gladiator|Iron Gladiator]] ([[User talk:Iron Gladiator|talk]]) 10:10, 9 November 2017 (EST)
:If I may interject here, I agree that aside from cleaning up vandalism or an edit that you have repeatedly warned about, that an edit summary should generally be given, but please do remember not to be rude when asking why someone reverted your edits, because it makes you come across as arrogant. Saying that someone's reversions of your edits is "annoying as fuck" is not the way a talk page discussion should start, and it could just cause unwanted anger on both sides. ==Hello, anonymous user!==
[[File:Wiki.png|thumb|Greetings, IP address!]]
You've made some constructive edits to this wiki. We appreciate your contributions here, because as with any contributor, [[SW:YAV|you are valuable!]] However, we do recommend you [[Special:UserLogin/signup|'''create an account''']]. Here are some reasons why:
:'''You gain a few extra tools and rights!''' Upon becoming an [[SW:AUTO|"auto-confirmed user"]] (waiting 4 days ''and'' making 10 edits after registering), you gain some basic abilities, such as being able to create pages, mark your edits as minor, or edit semi-protected pages. What's more, users can gain [[SW:ROLL|rollback]], or even become an [[SW:ADMIN|administrator]] with a lot of hard work, dedication, and responsibility. See the links for more details.
:'''Your identity can no longer change!''' Editing from a different city, state, town, or just a different place makes your IP address change according to the location, and people cannot tell you are the same person. In fact, there is truly no way of proving whether you have contributed from multiple places or not. Under a registered account, however, that wouldn't happen, and people can tell who you are regardless of your current location thanks to a username that is much more easily recognizable than a series of numbers.
:'''It will allow people to know you are online!''' There is a list at the top of the [[Special:RecentChanges|recent changes]] that shows the editors who are online. However, this bar doesn't show IPs, for both privacy and clutter reasons. Since you're an IP, people will not even know you are here unless you do something! Creating an account will solve that and people will then know when it is best to contact you.
:'''Questions? Concerns?''' Don't worry about it! You can personally message me at [[User talk:Penro|my talk page]] or visit the {{S|Forum|help desk}} if you are confused or on the fence about something. We will try to respond as soon as possible.
:'''Still not convinced?''' See [[SmashWiki:Why create an account?|this page]] for more details and benefits.
When choosing a username or alias to go by, you '''[[SW:NAME|need to keep this in mind!]]''' With that out of the way, we await to see you as a registered user here on SmashWiki!

If a user reverts your edit, please do not just revert it back again. This could cause an edit war, which is highly counterproductive to the function of a wiki. If you are unsure why an edit was reverted, instead try asking them on their talk page. 9 times out of 10 they will explain why, and you will understand. In this case, I believe your edit was reverted because you unnecessarily removed a lot of detail from the "Changes from Brawl" section, and I do kinda agree with that. ::::::::''"On that note, ac2k, please quit butting into conversations that have nothing to do with you."''
::::::::What is wrong in this case is a user falsely accusing other users of personal attacks, and that needs to be addressed if no one else is going to do it. Just to let you know this since no one seems to have explicitly told you: undoing a good-faith undo (as you did in your edits to Mario's Smash 4 page) is generally frowned upon, as it can cause the situation to escalate far more than is needed. Minor edits[edit]

I've noticed you've been putting 'Minor edit' as the edit summary for a lot of your edits. We have a checkbox for flagging edits as minor, just below the edit summary box though, so maybe consider using that. Turns out that checkbox only appears for registered users.

Although, you've been saying a lot of your edits are minor when a LOT of data is being changed in those pages, sometimes as much as 500 or even 1,000 bytes. Unless you have a good reason, edits like these should never be considered minor. Thanks! Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 20:59, 1 October 2017 (EDT)

IPs do not have the "minor edit" checkbox, just an FYI. Serpent SKSig.png King 21:51, 1 October 2017 (EDT)

I figured they were minor because they've largely consisted of nothing more than grammar tweaks. Regardless, I'll take your advice into account. :) 104.136.200.207 23:43, 1 October 2017 (EDT)

Your edits so far[edit]

...have been good. But there are a few things you're doing that aren't optimal.

  • We have redirects for a reason. Don't change links from [[redirect]] to [[page|redirect]], because it not only make the code more complex, but means if the redirect is pointed somewhere else the link may not be correct anymore. This is especially true for redirects pointing to sections; use the redirect so if the section gets renamed, we only have to change one link (the redirect itself) instead of dozens.
  • Why change "min" to "minimum" and "max" to "maximum" in damage tables? Abbreviations that everyone should understand are useful in tables, especially ones with a lot of data. If it's in text then sure, but I don't see the benefit here.
  • There's no need to replace "1.4x" with "1.4×". There's nothing wrong with doing it as long as it's not the only change in an edit, but it's not really necessary.

Just my observations. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Dispenser 19:12, 5 October 2017 (EDT)

  • I'll leave any redirects I encounter unchanged from here on out instead of making them into "[[page|redirect]]".
  • I did the minimum/maximum and multiplication sign changes for the sake of making the pages look less informal and more encyclopedic.
104.136.200.207 19:23, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
I personally think it's debetable whether "x" or "×" is "more encyclopedic", but since you appear to be consistent about it that's fine.
Also, reply to talk page posts on the same page, so everything is kept together in one place. And use <nowiki> tags if you want to type wikicode without it turning into wikicode. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Engineer 19:27, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
Whoops, sorry about that. But yeah, using "x" in place of "×" is fine for informal situations, much like how "~" is the informal equivalent to "≈" in regard to approximation. Since this is a wiki, its article's grammar should be as encyclopedic as possible. 104.136.200.207 19:39, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
I disagree wholeheartedly. It's the same concept as the smart quotes: non-type-able characters are not to be used unless directly quoting something, or in some other special occasions. Anyway, using an "x" to imply multiplication is less effective than an asterisk "*" (unless I am misunderstanding the situation?) Serpent SKSigHalloween.png King 19:54, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
A simple Google search can easily bring up characters unavailable on a keyboard. 104.136.200.207 20:53, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
That's not really the point. Simplicity is the key here. Serpent SKSigHalloween.png King 20:57, 5 October 2017 (EDT)
Hence why I said a simple Google search. What you're talking about is convenience, which also falls under my suggestion of looking up any characters. 104.136.200.207 21:06, 5 October 2017 (EDT)

If I may interject here, I agree that aside from cleaning up vandalism or an edit that you have repeatedly warned about, that an edit summary should generally be given, but please do remember not to be rude when asking why someone reverted your edits, because it makes you come across as arrogant. Saying that someone's reversions of your edits is "annoying as fuck" is not the way a talk page discussion should start, and it could just cause unwanted anger on both sides. Hello, anonymous user![edit]

Greetings, IP address!

You've made some constructive edits to this wiki. We appreciate your contributions here, because as with any contributor, you are valuable! However, we do recommend you create an account. Here are some reasons why:

You gain a few extra tools and rights! Upon becoming an "auto-confirmed user" (waiting 4 days and making 10 edits after registering), you gain some basic abilities, such as being able to create pages, mark your edits as minor, or edit semi-protected pages. What's more, users can gain rollback, or even become an administrator with a lot of hard work, dedication, and responsibility. See the links for more details.
Your identity can no longer change! Editing from a different city, state, town, or just a different place makes your IP address change according to the location, and people cannot tell you are the same person. In fact, there is truly no way of proving whether you have contributed from multiple places or not. Under a registered account, however, that wouldn't happen, and people can tell who you are regardless of your current location thanks to a username that is much more easily recognizable than a series of numbers.
It will allow people to know you are online! There is a list at the top of the recent changes that shows the editors who are online. However, this bar doesn't show IPs, for both privacy and clutter reasons. Since you're an IP, people will not even know you are here unless you do something! Creating an account will solve that and people will then know when it is best to contact you.
Questions? Concerns? Don't worry about it! You can personally message me at my talk page or visit the help desk if you are confused or on the fence about something. We will try to respond as soon as possible.
Still not convinced? See this page for more details and benefits.

When choosing a username or alias to go by, you need to keep this in mind! With that out of the way, we await to see you as a registered user here on SmashWiki!

SW:1RV[edit]

If a user reverts your edit, please do not just revert it back again. This could cause an edit war, which is highly counterproductive to the function of a wiki. If you are unsure why an edit was reverted, instead try asking them on their talk page. 9 times out of 10 they will explain why, and you will understand. In this case, I believe your edit was reverted because you unnecessarily removed a lot of detail from the "Changes from Brawl" section, and I do kinda agree with that. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 15:09, 15 January 2018 (EST)

Reminder of this. Look, the administration has requested that you do not change the x's, therefore the consensus is that you leave it alone. Persist, and you will be at risk of an admin block. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:27, 24 February 2018 (EST)
In that case, have fun changing every single × on the wiki into an x. 104.136.200.207 13:23, 25 February 2018 (EST)
For a second time you've used attitude to respond to a talk page message. I strongly recommend you stop doing that, as this could also lead to a ban. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 13:47, 25 February 2018 (EST)
Considering you've called some of my edits "dumbing things down" when that itself rude (and just flat out wrong, considering such edits are merely trimming fat), you're honestly in no position to talk about someone else's attitude. 104.136.200.207 19:29, 28 February 2018 (EST)
Alright, time out. IP, it doesn't matter what has been done in the past, or for that matter, what is being done to you now - you do not respond to personal attacks with an attack of your own. Alex is right, you know - and there's just no other way to say it: you have an attitude problem, often responding in a snarky tone when someone confronts you on your talk page. I strongly recommend that you adjust your attitude if you want to avoid further problems. That is all. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:53, 28 February 2018 (EST)
How many times does the definition of "personal attack" have to be explained to you? Neither Alex nor the IP made any sort of personal attack. Harsh/rude language =/= personal attack. If you don't like the way they present themselves, that's your own problem, not theirs. Wiki users should be prepared to deal with anyone, no matter how they communicate themselves. You should loosen up and be better prepared for the talk of the Internet. Awesome Cardinal 2000 21:25, 28 February 2018 (EST)
The policy of personal attacks extends past 'personal'. It also deals with how the conduct of a user must be in general. You have been gone from this wiki for a while, and as a result you seem to have gaps in your knowledge of how our policies work. Get off my case. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:36, 28 February 2018 (EST)
Going to step in here and say 2 things
  1. There are no personal attacks here, but harsh/rude language is to be avoided where possible so as to maintain a level of peace. It is in SmashWiki's best interest to keep it stress free and not make users feel intimidated as you do.
  2. On that note, ac2k, please quit butting into conversations that have nothing to do with you. You seem to only do this to make the situation worse
Serpent SKSig.png King 21:40, 28 February 2018 (EST)
If a person has poor conduct but isn't personally insulting one, that's not a personal attack then. Personally I think the whole thing going on with "You need to change your attitude" being used everywhere is stupid and shows a lack of maturity and user handling skills, but whatever, I'll just go with it if that's what's deemed necessary.
"On that note, ac2k, please quit butting into conversations that have nothing to do with you."
What is wrong in this case is a user falsely accusing other users of personal attacks, and that needs to be addressed if no one else is going to do it. It is the responsibility of every user to ensure that policies are properly enforced, especially one as serious as NPA. Awesome Cardinal 2000 23:49, 28 February 2018 (EST)
In addition, it's ironic that a user is telling someone that they "need an attitude change" when they ended their last comment with "Get off my case." The whole spirit of NPA is to promote an environment where users can freely disagree with others without holding hostility towards them. Awesome Cardinal 2000 23:54, 28 February 2018 (EST)

Heads-up[edit]

Just to let you know this since no one seems to have explicitly told you: undoing a good-faith undo (as you did in your edits to Mario's Smash 4 page) is generally frowned upon, as it can cause the situation to escalate far more than is needed. Instead, you should discuss the changes on the article's talk page. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 15:10, 15 January 2018 (EST)

I understand. All I did, however, was simply clean up the section only after doing research on how Mario differed between Brawl and SSB4. If you guys wish to keep it looking cluttered and messy, be my guest. 104.136.200.207 15:43, 15 January 2018 (EST)
I'm not saying that your edit shouldn't have been made, I'm saying that there was probably a reason they undid it, and you should talk it out with them instead of doing what can feel like ignoring them. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 17:51, 15 January 2018 (EST)

A couple of things[edit]

1. Stop dumbing down and removing details from pages, like you are repeatedly doing with Pit (SSB4). 2. Again your edits are bordering on violating SW:1RV. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 15:00, 2 February 2018 (EST)

I simply trimmed it down. And don't worry, I'm fine with the most recent edit to his page, so there's no need for you to stay pissy. 104.136.200.207 15:08, 2 February 2018 (EST)
Excuse me, but I don't appreciate being called pissy. If you have any problems with me, just tell me about them, because all insulting people is going to get you is a ban. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 15:23, 2 February 2018 (EST)

Hey, I just want to remind you of this again. Thanks in advance! --Penro 18:56, 25 February 2018 (EST)

Just stop[edit]

Dude, seriously. Come on. You have repeatedly and consistently violated SW:1RV and you still refuse to use the show preview button, and you have been reminded of both many, many times. And, like others said, stop removing information. If you question someone's edits, leave a message on their talk page. St. Reggie, Leprachaun 00:07, 28 February 2018 (EST)

While I'm here, stop being rude. It doesn't make you look good and SW:NPA is yet another thing you've violated. St. Reggie, Leprachaun 00:13, 28 February 2018 (EST)
