|desc-ntsc=These clawed, fly-like enemies from Metroid show up in Smash Run, too. They float in midair, then fly in a U shape when you get close. They're predictable, which makes them easy to outsmart, but stay on your toes anyway—their attacks can send you flying. One way to beat them is to grab and throw them when they buzz near you. | |desc-ntsc=These clawed, fly-like enemies from Metroid show up in Smash Run, too. |desc-ntsc=Samus unleashes a massive, long-range beam from her Arm Cannon as her Final Smash. Fighters on the edges of the beam will be drawn in, taking more and more damage. The sheer power of this weapon makes it tough to aim once it's firing, but it's possible to adjust the beam up and down. | |desc-ntsc=Samus unleashes a massive, long-range beam from her Arm Cannon as her Final Smash. |desc-pal=In Samus's Final Smash, she unleashes a huge laser beam from her Arm Cannon that draws opponents to the centre of the beam. Quite handy, since the closer they are to the centre, the more damage they'll take! You can also angle it up and down (albeit slowly), letting you catch more of your enemies and create more havoc. | |desc-pal=In Samus's Final Smash, she unleashes a huge laser beam from her Arm Cannon that draws opponents to the centre of the beam. |desc-pal=Samus's spaceship carries her through space and serves as her base of operations during her missions. Zero Suit Samus will call down and board her Gunship with her Final Smash. Once she's in the pilot's seat, she has a short time to unleash up to five powerful shots from the ship's weapons. Foes aren't safe even hiding off-screen! | |desc-pal=Samus's spaceship carries her through space and serves as her base of operations during her missions. |desc-ntsc=Samus's Gunship is her way of travelling through space and her base of operations when exploring hostile planets. In Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash, she can use her Gunship to fire powerful beams at other fighters, hitting them multiple times, even if they're hiding off-screen! At least they can be thankful it doesn't go on forever. | |desc-ntsc=Samus's Gunship is her way of travelling through space and her base of operations when exploring hostile planets. |desc=One of the numerous modules integrated into Samus's Power Suit. This one allows her to transform into a compact mobile sphere and explore tight spaces. In the very first Metroid game, it was known as Maru Mari, which is just Japanese for "roll up," but it was later changed to the much-cooler-sounding Morph Ball. | |desc=One of the numerous modules integrated into Samus's Power Suit. |desc-ntsc=The one partner Samus can rely on in almost all of her missions. In the wide unknown of outer space, she can always return to the Gunship for a safe haven. It allows her to replenish all of her energy and ammunition and even serves as a resting spot for the player. |desc-ntsc=As you might guess from the coloring, this is an industrial machine...but it ends up attacking Samus anyway. It's covered in tools that may have served less violent purposes originally but are very effective as weapons. The trick to defeating it is to stay calm and freeze its moving parts and then dismantle it with extreme force. | |desc-ntsc=As you might guess from the coloring, this is an industrial machine...but it ends up attacking Samus anyway. |desc-pal=As you might guess from the colouring, this is an industrial machine. Of course, it ends up attacking Samus anyway... It's covered in tools that were probably meant for less violent purposes, but they work very effectively as weapons. To defeat it, just stay calm and freeze its moving parts, then dismantle it...with extreme force. | |desc-pal=As you might guess from the colouring, this is an industrial machine. |desc-pal=Madeline is the woman responsible for giving the intelligent android MB a human name: Melissa Bergman. The family name of Bergman is Madeline's own, and it seems Melissa saw Madeline as something of a mother. However, due to a terrible misunderstanding, Melissa believed Madeline had betrayed her. | |desc-pal=Madeline is the woman responsible for giving the intelligent android MB a human name: Melissa Bergman. One of the numerous modules integrated into Samus's Power Suit. This one allows her to transform into a compact mobile sphere and explore tight spaces. In the very first Metroid game, it was known as Maru Mari, which is just Japanese for "roll up," but it was later changed to the much-cooler-sounding Morph Ball.

Trivia
- With the complete absence of a trophy or even a reference in a trophy description, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is the first installment to not have Ridley appear in any capacity.
- Although Adam Malkovich's only listed appearance is 2010's Metroid: Other M, he previously appeared as the artificial intelligence of Samus's operating system in 2002's Metroid Fusion.
- The Gunship (Zero Suit Samus) trophy is the only Final Smash trophy that specifies a character without being a shared Final Smash; in this case, it's used to distinguish from the standard Gunship trophy.
- The Samus (Varia Suit)'s description in the NTSC version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS references the "y cant metroid[sic] crawl" meme, which originated as a post from Miiverse.
