The Assist Trophy is a new item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Functioning much like Poké Balls have in all three Super Smash Bros. games, the Assist Trophies randomly releases one of many available helper characters. Unlike the Poké Ball item, however, an Assist Trophy character can be from any universe, not simply the Pokémon universe.
