So, uhh I wanted to update the artwork for the Infantry & Tank page to this to match the color of the Assist Trophy in Smash 4(which is red) but, the thing is I don't know anything about Advance War and considering this is a concept art released in 2016 by the artist himself I don't know what game this is from and is this artwork eligible?

:I don't know anything about the Nintendo Wars series, but after doing a little bit of digging, it seems that the Infantry and Tanks sprites in Smash are based on the map unit sprites Advance Wars games, rather than Super Famicom Wars (where the Spirit's artwork comes from). Ryo Hirata posted this concept art alongside battle sprites for Advance Wars 2, which does seem to resemble the concept art. From those sprites, the concept art best matches the Orange Star Tank... and, if I'm interpreting this Advance Wars sprite sheet correctly, the "Tanks" used in Smash are actually the Orange Star Tanks.
:It's a match! ... I think?
:As for it being concept art released in 2016, I don't believe that should be an issue. There are some pages, like Sheik or Link, where the best/most relevant artwork available is concept art. At the very least, the fact that it better represents the Infantry and Tanks seen in Smash (even by the simple virtue of being red instead of green) should make it a better choice for the infobox. But I feel like I should let someone else (who actually knows the Nintendo Wars series) be the judge. --PeabodySam (talk) 14:28, January 2, 2021 (EST)

Artwork Fact-check[edit]

Infantry &Tank ConceptArt.jpg

So, uhh I wanted to update the artwork for the Infantry & Tank page to this to match the color of the Assist Trophy in Smash 4(which is red) but, the thing is I don't know anything about Advance War and considering this is a concept art released in 2016 by the artist himself I don't know what game this is from or is this artwork even eligible?

I don't know anything about the Nintendo Wars series, but after doing a little bit of digging, it seems that the Infantry and Tanks sprites in Smash are based on the map unit sprites Advance Wars games, rather than Super Famicom Wars (where the Spirit's artwork comes from).
It's a match! ... I think?
As for it being concept art released in 2016, I don't believe that should be an issue.
