Rollout is a special move used by Jigglypuff in Melee and Brawl, which is executed with the B button, and charged by holding it. When releasing the B button, Jigglypuff will roll, the more charged, the faster the attack is. It is a speed attack, and deals high horizontal knockback and when "fully charged" does 18% damage. Hitting an opponent causes Jigglypuff to "rebound" a small distance.
There are two stages of being "fully charged" in Brawl:
- Fully Charged - The higher pitch sound has started and the sparkles are on full and are coloured
- Super Charged - The controller will rumble (about 1 second after Fully Charged). Using a Super Charged Rollout will not cause any more damage or knockback, but Jigglypuff will roll further, and be less affected by gravity when it travels through the air.
While being performed, one can change direction back and forth. On stages in Melee's Adventure Mode, it is often considered one of the fastest ways to move around.
If used in the air or off of a ledge, one is unable to get out of the move until one lands, so be careful when using it. In Melee, this move would put Jigglypuff in a helpless state if the attack ended while Jigglypuff was in the air. In Brawl, this was removed and Jigglypuff no longer enters a helpless state when using this move.
Rollout is a Rock-type move in the Pokémon games. Learned mostly by spherical Pokémon, it executes five turns in a row (unless it misses) and deals increasing amounts of damage each turn.
