This is a SmashWiki style guide, giving pointers of making an article look good even if it is very short.

Lists

Lists can be created by having an asterisk be the first character in a line:

  • Just
  • like
  • this.

Numbered ones can also be done with the number sign:

  1. Which
  2. is very
  3. similar.

Lists shall never be done with line breakers, as it looks better with dots.

Images

Banners

Wide banners should be compressed, but still viewable; copy this code to top of page:

[[Image:BannerName.jpg|right|450px|{{SUBST:PAGENAME}}'s banner]]

Replacing BannerName.jpg with the actual name of the uploaded banner. Size can vary depending of length.

Wording

Use a lot of pronouns. Who doesn't like them?

  • Bad example: Smiddle is a smasher who mains Luigi. Smiddle is crewless.
  • Better example: Smiddle is a smasher who mains Luigi. He is crewless.

Self references

Self references should be avoided.
Bad examples:

  • ...then he wrote this page at SmashWiki.
  • Using page in the title of an article.
