To reiterate: regardless of how much a move resembles its counterpart from the character's home series - Slit Edge, Shadow Claw, Sonic Rocket, PK Love, Roll Attack, Flip Kick, even Mr. Game & Watch's entire moveset - we do not take names from sources other than the Smash games themselves, regardless of whether or not they are official Nintendo games. There seems to be some disagreement on Wadi's section on the notable players list, with some labeling him as the best wii fit in the world and some not. Personally I wouldn't consider him the best Wii Fit for several reasons, including:
1) He hasn't really made use of actual wii fit specific tech or strategies whatsoever, but rather depends on his great fundamentals to win him sets (which is fine)
2) He's barely used the character since May after only playing wii fit for a handful of weeks
3) He only had the character as a secondary to begin with
Overall he's a pretty poor representative of the character as a whole, and within the wii fit playerbase no one really considers him to be the best wii fit player in the world, but rather the best player in the world that has tried out wii fit. He hasn't used the character for an extended period of time and has never done anything remotely close to advancing the character's meta, so it seems disingenuous to place him on a pedestal as the best Wii fit player. What are your thoughts? invy (talk) 22:47, August 20, 2019 (EDT)
I feel like he needs to be listed because hes probably the person that gets mentioned alongside wiifit by most smashers. So even if hes far from the best hes notable.
I do wonder who all should be listed in notable player section. It feels weird seeing some players listed while others like CPU, occho, ace and the German fits not on it. But I kind of like how all the listed players have notability in a least a couple ways. Unfortunately I'm not sure how we would go about that. Take a character like Kirby. Wii fit mains rank that character anywhere as being -2 - +1.  Even a character most wii fit mains think is our worst matchup, Pikachu, there is some divide. Sinogara puts that mu at -.5 and tbh, has the record against top French pikachus to back it up. We could ask Invy if we could use his collaborative wii fit matchup chart. He compiled a
matchup charts from 10 top wii fits.
As to performance in the meta the best C tier result is 4th (Reese), B tier is 5th (Sinogara), A tier is 17th (RockstarAce) and S tier is 33rd. (Varun, Evy, Keroguchi, CPU, John Numbers)
There has been a gradual uptick in overall wii fit performances but I dont think anything dramatic. Wiifitkid (talk) 17:53, April 8, 2020 (EDT)

Trivia[edit]

It says that Wii Fit Trainer is the only character yo have names for all of their standard attacks, excluding throws and floor attacks. Doesn't Mega Man also fit this description? Veledwin1 (talk) 06:52, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

That is true, I'll go and add it. Aidan, the Rurouni 11:09, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

Does anyone know of any other characters who have a move or projectile specifically that never stales? If not then we can add the header ball never staling to the trivia section Invy (talk) 10:22, May 25, 2019 (EDT)

Should we keep the names of the attacks in the infoboxes?[edit]

They literally are the poses, so there's no way they could be anything else. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Sonic Fan Leave a message if needed 15:32, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

Agreed, considering that the game devs made a point of using specific Wii Fit poses in WFT's moveset, it certainly seems as though whether or not a tip just so happens to mention a certain move by name is just a technicality in this case. Additionally, Serpent King's complaint about use of outside sources isn't exactly valid considering that we have plenty of supplementary information from games outside of the Super Smash Bros. series. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 15:45, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

"Outside sources" refers to those specific games outside the Smash series. We don't really care what a move looks like, whether it be Slit Edge, Shadow Claw, Braver, or something else - SW:OFFICIAL specifies not to just make up a name for an unnamed move ("In the absence of either an official name or a highly recognized fan term, such as most characters' normal moves, it is preferable to leave a name section blank than to "invent" a name for an unnamed move like Mario's down smash.") Aidan, the Rurouni 17:06, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
I think you're missing the point. This isn't simply a case of a move looking like a move from another game. This is direct, consistent, deliberate and referenced 1-to-1 appropriation of the moves from Wii Fit. Alex the Jigglypuff trainer 17:14, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
We understand that, but the moves are not officially named that in Smash Ultimate. Ergo, those names do not belong on this article. They may be officially named elsewhere, but not anywhere in Ultimate. As such, in accordance with SW:OFFICIAL, we should not be adding those names to WFT's article. Hinata (talk) 17:30, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
(Edit conflict) That is the point: it looks like it. Regardless of how closely it matches, it still is made to look like it. Aidan, the Rurouni 17:32, May 22, 2019 (EDT)
Normally, I’d agree with Aidan on this, but since these attacks are based on actual Yoga poses, They should probably be kept in here. Lou Cena (talk) 20:02, May 22, 2019 (EDT)

I initially added all the names for moves looking specifically at the Wii Fit franchise to see what moves from those games were used, if that isn't a valid source for move names then idk what is Invy (talk) 10:18, May 25, 2019 (EDT)

That is what SW:OFFICIAL states: "In the absence of either an official name or a highly recognized fan term, such as most characters' normal moves, it is preferable to leave a name section blank than to "invent" a name for an unnamed move like Mario's down smash."
