It was founded in Korea in 2002 as ''StarCraft: Brood War'' team Orion by legendary player Lim Yohwan (Boxer), considered to be a forefather of modern E-Sports, and in 2004, it became SK Telecom T1 after its title sponsor, Korean telecommunications giant SK Telecom.
