King Kila notability

As requested, I have opened a discussion for King Kila's notability status.

Taking a look at his results so far, it seems to me his best results are at the bi-weekly Orbitar; to me, I don't believe it's as notable as other regionals on here since it's basically a local that happens every two weeks. Also, judging by how he also plays a lot of Cloud, it's safe to assume most of those placements are because of Cloud rather than K. Rool. This also leads into my next point: his results on a PGR-level isn't as impressive either, as his best result is 9th at Emerald City 8, and even then he basically only used Cloud. His other results, such as 65th at PP5 and 385th at EVO are very mediocre, and again he could have been using Cloud for most of it. Finally, being voted onto the compendium isn't impressive: for example, Von was voted for K. Rool even though he has always been a Lucina main.

I am open for any other opinions that would make me reconsider my approach. CookiesCreme 11:34, December 1, 2019 (EST)

Sorry that I'm late to this, had a bit of a rough week. I do agree that King Kila has used Cloud a majority of the time, but he has used King K. Rool as a secondary for a very long time. JoJoDaHoBo, a Toon Link player from his area, can verify this. While his result at Emerald City 8 is only ok, Locus is listed on the Ryu page while only having this same result at the same tournament. Kila has this and more, giving enough precedent for him to be listed in my opinion, especially with his increase in activity using the king since the Kongo Saga vote. On the note of Von, while he has always been a Lucina main, he has also used K. Rool as a secondary for a long time as well. I believe while being put on the voting isn't impressive, for Kila to get as many votes as he did is a testament to his place in the K. If Locus barely has any notability with Ryu, then it shouldn't been on there either. I still don't believe being voted onto a compendium is good enough for notability either. Take, for example, the Glitch 8 compendium. I'm not saying this with any ill-will, but how notable are Braixen and Polo? Yes, they are well-known in their community there, but the notability section covers how well-known someone is from all around the world. Not only that, but King Kila currently only has one good PGR tournament and a few good locals. In the future, how notable would placing 9th at Emerald City 8 be? How good would placing in the top 8 at a few Orbitars be? If that's his only tournament where he has done well in the next few years, I don't believe it should be noted on the section.

I can definitely understand where you're coming from, I do believe Locus should be removed from the Ryu notable players section if King Kila isn't going to be noted to remain consistent however. Kila was out at 129th at Kongo Saga, so it seems we're likely better off waiting and seeing his performance in the future. Is it notable that K. Rool is the 2nd most common opponent in Classic Mode

Somebody named Brooklyn50 keeps adding this, along with other weirdly specific Classic Mode trivia, in, even after I removed it. I'm personally of the opinion that it's way too complex to be noted. 72.203.118.154 18:19, January 6, 2020 (EST)

I don't think it's noteworthy unless a character is the most common or least common. Personally I think most classic mode trivia (a good example being the "X characters are the only characters to travel to Y stage in Classic Mode") are also very redundant and don't need mentioning.
