Notices
The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Event Match 31: Mario Bros. Madness is one of the 51 Event Matches from the Event Mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This event match is similar to the point-system in Versus Mode. The player has two minutes to try and win as much points as possible. Points are rewarded for knocking out Mario and Luigi. The player loses a point if they kill themself or Mario/Luigi kills them. If Mario or Luigi successfully knocks out the player's character, then they will recieve a point. The character with the most points at the end of two minutes wins the event match.

Strategies

Items and smash attacks are helpful for this event. Since this stage is covered with bricks, it will be difficult to make an upward kill. The side of the screen is wide open so using a throw, particularly DK's forward (the carry) or Pikachu's/Pichu's backwards throw is a good strategy. You could also use Mario, Dr. Mario, or Luigi's backwards throw.
