Creature description
Bulbasaur is the Grass-type Starter Pokémon in Pokémon Red & Blue, and their GBA remakes Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen. It evolves into Ivysaur at level 16, and later on Venusaur at level 32. Bulbasaur looks like a green frog with a bulb on it's back. The bulb can be used to synthesize sunlight to launch a powerful SolarBeam or recover with Synthesis. Also it can scatter Poisonpowder or Sleep Powder or fire Seeds Bombs or Leeech Seeds to attack.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
While a major Pokémon in its own right, Bulbasaur is only lightly represented in this one game in the Smash Bros. series.
As a trophy
Bulbasaur features as a collectible trophy, unlocked as one of the 100+ trophies that can be collected randomly during normal play, such as in the Trophy Lottery and throughout the various Single-player Regular Matches. It reads as follows:
- Bulbasaur:
- Bulbasaur is a cute Pokémon born with a large seed firmly affixed to its back; the seed grows in size as the Pokémon does. Along with Squirtle and Charmander, Bulbasaur is one of three Pokémon available at the beginning of Pokémon Red & Blue. It evolves first into Ivysaur and ultimately into Venusaur."
