*Super Sonic's appearance as a Spirit is a partial reference to the British ''Sonic the Comic'' published by Fleetway from 1993 to 2001. In this adaptation, Super Sonic is an insane being with a personality that is the opposite to the original Sonic's, enjoying nothing more than pure destruction. The two were separated into two beings in the comic's 83rd issue, with Super Sonic becoming more powerful without the constraints of his original half. They were merged back together during the events of the final original story (all issues after 184 would be reprints of earlier stories).
