To Moonwalk, start dashing and immediately do a half-circle starting from Down towards the opposite direction as the one you are facing. If you are facing the left, do a quarter-circle starting from down and moving towards the right.
The Moonwalk is most noticable when used as Captain Falcon. You will fly off towards the opposite direction as the one you're facing with the distance of more than half of Final Destination.
