Template:Character Yoshi is a character in both SSB and SSBM.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Is fairly heavy
- Possesses the powerful Double Jump Cancel
- Has many specialized moves, such as the d-tilt (edgeguarding)
- Can juggle many characters well
- Can use his Over B to recover as well, although in many cases is worse than using the airdodge
- Shield/Roll has strange properties that benefit Yoshi.
- Can powershield by lightshielding in the middle of a dash, does not however reflect projectiles and is merely just an attack powershield.
- Has an infinite ledge stall.
Cons
- Lacks a real triple jump
- Is floaty and consequently easily comboed by many characters
- Has mediocre combo ability on non-fastfallers
- Should avoid standing grabs if possible due to laggy start-up and recovery time if missed
- If knocked out of his second jump is doomed unless he can somehow grab the edge
