Template:Character Yoshi is a character in both SSB and SSBM.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Is fairly heavy
  • Possesses the powerful Double Jump Cancel
  • Has many specialized moves, such as the d-tilt (edgeguarding)
  • Can juggle many characters well
  • Can use his Over B to recover as well, although in many cases is worse than using the airdodge
  • Shield/Roll has strange properties that benefit Yoshi.
  • Can powershield by lightshielding in the middle of a dash, does not however reflect projectiles and is merely just an attack powershield.
  • Has an infinite ledge stall.

Cons

  • Lacks a real triple jump
  • Is floaty and consequently easily comboed by many characters
  • Has mediocre combo ability on non-fastfallers
  • Should avoid standing grabs if possible due to laggy start-up and recovery time if missed
  • If knocked out of his second jump is doomed unless he can somehow grab the edge
