Deoxys: Difference between revisions
(Undid edit by Dr. HyperCake: The reason why it's not uncommon is because most of them don't have one. Very few do have one, and even less that do have them don't even use them in Smash.) |

Deoxys (デオキシス, Deoxys) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
As a Poké Ball Pokémon
The Attack Form of Deoxys appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When it comes out of its Poké Ball, it will fly upward, meteor smashing anyone who touches it, and will proceed to shoot a powerful Hyper Beam downwards, sending anyone that touches the beam to go flying with great force. If the opponent is close enough, it can suck them towards the blast. When the blast gets slightly narrower, it OHKOs any opponent that touches the Hyper Beam. However, opponents can SDI out of the blast to avoid the last hit. Deoxys's attack does not harm the summoner.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
As a Poké Ball Pokémon
Deoxys is set to reappear as a Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Its behavior appears to be unchanged from Smash 4.
Origin
Deoxys is a Psychic-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation III. Originally an event-exclusive Pokémon, it became regularly available in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, so far the only Pokémon to do so. It possesses four different Formes: the Normal Forme, with high attack stats and low defense stats, the Attack Forme, which sharpens even further its disparity between attacking and defensive stats, the Defense Forme, which is much slower and less powerful but severely increases its defensive capabilities, and the Speed Forme, which has balanced offensive and defensive stats and the highest base speed of any Pokémon. The Attack Forme, originally exclusive of Pokémon FireRed, is the one appearing in the Smash series.
Hyper Beam is a Normal-type special move with 150 base power and 90% accuracy. While very powerful, if successful it forces the user to waste one turn to recharge. It is available to most fully evolved Pokémon with TM15, but Deoxys can also learn it by level in its Normal and Attack Formes.
