Mega Man (ロックマン, Rockman) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, officially confirmed on June 12th, 2018.
Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4
Aesthetics
As with all veterans returning from SSB4, Mega Man's model features a more subdued color scheme. Some of the mechanical details on his body are more pronounced.- Mega Man's Mega Buster now emits a small, ring-shaped particle upon firing.
- Mega Man now opens his mouth while firing the Mega Buster on the ground, unlike his own games.
- Mega Man's Boxing Ring alias is now his European counterpart "The Blue Bomber" in all regions.
Ground attacks
Jab and forward tilt projectiles travel slightly more distance.- Up smash (Spark Shock) has more active frames.
- Down smash has noticeably quicker start-up.
- Forward smash has more range
Aerial Attacks
- Neutral aerial projectiles travel a slightly higher distance.
- Forward aerial has less landing while dealing more damage and having much more knockback.
- Up, down, and back air have decreased landing lag, especially down air.
Special moves
- Leaf Shield has a faster startup, its leaves spin more quickly around Mega Man and do not vanish upon hitting opponents, and the shield can be thrown much faster. On top of that the leaves spinning around Mega Man now deal significantly higher base knockback making it much safer on hit.
- His Final Smash, Mega Legends, now has both Proto Man and Bass added to the lineup.
