This article is about Mario's appearance in Melee. For information about his SSB appearance, see here. For information about his Brawl appearance, see here. Also, for the Doctor character, see Dr. Mario.

Super Smash Bros. Melee marks Mario's second Smash Bros. appearance. He has also been announced as a character in Hal Labratory's up coming title, Super Smash Bros. Brawl.[1]

Mario (マリオ, Mario) is a character who has appeared in all three games in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Mario, considered the "all-around" character (as he is in most games), is well-balanced with great close-range smash attacks and good long range, Mario currently ranks as Middle Tier. Mario debuted in Donkey Kong on the NES, and has been the main videogame mascot for Nintendo since.

Mario is available as a starter.
