In 2017, the point system was announced with an added twist. There were 6 regions: Pacific Northwest, Pacific Southwest, Midwest, South, Atlantic Northeast, and Atlantic South. The event that a player obtains the most points from in each region would get a 20% amplification in points for said player, allowing a player to accumulate even more points by traveling out of the region. This was intended to encourage players to travel to different regions more often. There was also a "local tournament" component which would track local results from several regions and grant points to players who could perform well in-region. Unfortunately, with the cancellation of Olympus 2 and abrupt end to the 2017 circuit overall, there were no prizes for the top points finishers. | In 2017, the point system was announced with an added twist.
