The wavelanded laser, also known as a falling wavelanding laser, is an advanced technique in Melee that can be performed by Falco, Fox and Kirby. This technique sounds easy but is much harder than it seems. The goal is to shoot an opponent that is landing, standing, or falling. The tricky part of this move is trying to get the Blaster to go directly where the player wants it to go. Because of the speed of Falco's laser, he won't be able to shoot an opponent directly on the platform, but he can only shoot the opponent if he or she falls through. This gives Falco an advantage over Fox.

===Performing the wavelanding laser on an opponent falling through a platform or landing from a fall (Falco, Fox, & Kirby)===
#Face in the opposite direction of the opponent while the player and the opponent stand on 2 different platforms.
#Wavedash or waveland backwards to fall off.
#Use the Blaster when falling right below the platform or between the platform and the ground.
If the wavelanding laser is done correctly, Falco, Fox, or Kirby will slide backwards off the platform, face their opponent, and shoot the laser. It's much harder to shoot the laser while facing the opponent because the player automatically turns in the opposite direction as soon as they shoot the laser, and because wavedashing or wavelanding forward usually causes the player to trip then stumble on the edge of the platform. The player can also perform a falling waveshine laser, but not a falling wavelanding double laser.
