The Falling Wavelanding Laser also known as a Wavelanded Laser is an advanced technique in Melee that can be performed by Falco, Fox and Kirby. This technique sounds easy but is much harder than it seems. The goal is to shoot an opponent landing or standing on a platform, to shoot an opponent falling through a Platform, or to shoot an opponent landing from a fall. The tricky part of this move is trying to get the Blaster to go directly where you want it to go. Because of the speed of Falco's laser, he won't be able to shoot an opponent directly on the platform, but he can only shoot the opponent if he or she falls through. This gives Falco an advantage over Fox.

If the Falling Wavelanding Laser is done correctly, Falco, Fox, or Kirby will slide backwards off the platform, face their opponent, and shoot the Laser. It's much harder to shoot the Laser while facing your opponent because you automatically turn in the opposite direction as soon as you shoot the Laser and because Wavedashing or Wavelanding forward usually causes you to trip then stumble on the edge of the platform. A great place to practice this technique is in Pokemon Stadium. You can also do a Falling Waveshine Laser, but not a Falling Wavelanding Double Laser.
