The object in Ice Climber was to reach the top of the screen. Along the way these vegetables appeared. If you collected them all in the game, you would be awarded a bonus.
Collecting all five pieces of Corn on the fifth bonus level awarded you with an extra life.

=== In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]''===
The vegetables appear in '''[[The Summit]]''' , complete with a new 3-D look. They can be
used to replenish your characters' health.

In addition, the Vegetables have a trophy in Brawl.

They also have a unique sound effect when being eaten.

===Trophy Description===
''The Ice Climbers' goal is to climb peaks. Just below each peak is a bonus stage where these bonus items appear in this order: eggplant, carrot, cabbage, cucumber, corn, turnip, pumpkin, Chinese cabbage, potato, and mushroom. You'll also get points for grabbing the condor at the peak after collecting the veggies. Why vegetables? That's a mystery for the ages.
